      Rosetoast's Workbook

Hey! I'm Rosetoast and I am just so fascinated by the concept of lucid dreaming. I spent hours reading as much as I could and have managed to become lucid in some of my dreams. I came across this site and thought I should give it a go.

      Reality Checks:
      - Really question myself if I'm dreaming. Ask myself where am I, what am I doing and retrace what I've been doing the past day. Is anything out of the ordinary?
      - Try to jump up and float, I often find in my non-lucidity that I'm usually floating
      - Pinch nose and see if I can still breathe
      - Check the time on my phone

      Dream Signs:
      - I've had a number of dreams where I'm back at my home country

      Short-Term Goals:
      - Record any dreams I have every night consistently, without fail for the next 2 weeks
      - Once I manage to become lucid, be able to hold the lucidity for at least one minute

      Long-Term Goals:
      - Better dream recall
      - More vivid, longer and clear dreams

      Lucid/Dream Recall History:
      - My dream recall is good, I remember at least one dream every night

      Current Technique:
      - DILD and WBTB

I had a lucid dream last night! I stabilised the dream by feeling the textures of everything around me, looking at my hands, looking at all the details. I felt that the dream was very realistic and I felt very aware in the moment but when I woke up, I realise it actually wasn't that realistic and I didn't feel aware.

This is what happens with all my lucid dreams, I feel that the dream is very realistic in the moment but realise it wasn't like that at all when I wake up. Is this normal? Also, I always find it very hard to talk in my lucid dreams. I can speak normally in non-lucid dreams but it's as if I have a speech impediment when i'm lucid.

Hello Rosetoast and welcome to Intro class!

Congratulations on your lucid dream! I've come accross other people's accounts of lucid dreams feeling very realistic and vivid, and then having the opposite impression upon waking. I think it has to do with dream recall and overall mind agility. So, to improve the impressions be able to practice overall dream recall. Also, dreams may fade if you have other dreams after that. This is pretty normal and not much can be done unless you wake up immediately after your lucid. Overall excercises to improve mind agilily would be meditation, visualization, ADA, and selective recall of events (try recalling random past events during the day with as much detail as possible).

About having issues with voice, this is somewhat common and happens to almost everyone every once in a while. I think if you get more ld practice, there will be also more instances where you will be able to speak.

Thanks NyxCC! I have been practicing ADA and it has slightly improved the vividness of my dreams, I feel like I'm making progress. Thanks for the advice!

I feel very bad for not posting in this for a while, I gotta update! So I have had a couple of more lucid dreams and I find I'm not putting any effort into my dream stabilisation. I often just rush into it to get it over with and then proceed, leading to foggy dreams.

I set myself lucid dream tasks to achieve and I've set the following for my next lucid dream: Make sure that I really stabilise the dream until I feel like I'm completely aware before moving on further. Get tinker bell to shoot pixie dust at me so I can float around.

Welcome back rosetoast and congrats on the lds!

Love your dream plan and the tinker bell task is awesome! Looking forward to reading more about this.

Thanks NyxCC! Recently I discovered Sivasons dream yoga lessons and I can see how it can be really beneficial to lucid dreaming. I have decided to incorporate his lessons into my all day awareness practices and see if this will help me.

I am short sighted in real life and wear contact lenses to correct my vision so I was thinking what will really help me next time I'm lucid is I should also try to summon some contact lenses or dream glasses to wear and see if that can make everything look more crisp!

Sivason's yoga class is indeed very good, I highly recommend it. As you said, the exercises can nicely be incorporated in one's day routine.

The glasses/contact lenses idea is great. I'm already excited about your next ld!

Update: Yes nyxCC, I have been practising his lessons consistently now I feel like i'm really improving. Unfortunately, no lucid dreams yet so far but I have noticed that my non-lucid have become more vivid and I have slightly better dream recall.

Crossing my fingers for a lucid tonight!

I finally got a lucid dream!! Wow, I think I just went through a dry spell, I don't know why I went this long without having one, almost a month! But I think this was probably the most vivid lucid dream I have ever had. I was in my room and I just knew I was dreaming. Nothing weird was going on, I just somehow knew I was dreaming. I stabilised the dream and put on my dream glasses, everything became more clear and went on to do my lucid tasks.

I'm seeing a lot of improvement, the yoga lessons are really helping !
