      Entering a Lucid Dream??

      Hi,

I have been into lucid dreaming since I saw Vanilla Sky several years ago. I believe I have experienced sleep paralysis a few times, but have not actual allowed myself to get into a lucid dream.

I know how to get my mind/body to the point of entering the lucid stage. My question is, is it normal for me to experience the following symptoms and patterns? This only happens when I wake up early in the morning and fall back asleep a few hours later with the TV on in the background.

      1) I will feel my entire body/head start to rumble, shake, and buzz.

      2) I will see crazy colors and lights

      3) I will start to hear buzzing noises and sounds that are similar to alarms or police sirens,

It's actually quite scary...so what I always end up doing it "fighting" myself to wake up. When I break out of it and wake up from the noises, buzzing, and imagery, I am out of breath and my body is balled up tight. The longer I hear the noises, see the lights, and feel the head rush...the crazier it all gets. It feels like I am about to "break through" or "break into" something greater.. But like I said, it gets too crazy and I have to wake myself up.

Is this normal when entering into a lucid state, or am I looking more at something along the lines of an out-of body experience or sleep paralysis. I want more than anything to lucid dream with happy fun thoughts!! But every time this happens, it is really scary.

      Thanks,
      David Aimes

Well as far as I know. There are to be expected when trying to enter a lucid dream using the MILD dream technique. If you Can go through that scary stage you should eventually enter your dream, if you read the tutorials on this site it should explain it further. I have not experienced a WILD yet but as far as I have read, those 'symptoms' are to be expected. It also says that the 'symptoms' may be less scary to different people. With this being said maybe becoming lucid this way is not best for you? You should try the other methods. As I said a very helpful guide can be found on the homepage. On The left of the screen it should say 'introduction' go through all the tabs and you will find very many easier ways of becoming lucid. I hope this helps?
