New Member, First Lucid, and a Thanks!

      Hi all,

Really fantastic forum and a great community here.

Seems like a rite of passage to post your first Lucid, especially since it was all the great info from this site that I'm sure got me going in the right direction.

So for me, I was back in my childhood home in my own room with the light on. I went downstairs and hit a light switch but nothing happened. I went over to another switch, flipped it, and again nothing happened.

So following the usual logic, I went over to the big bay window to look across the street to see if other houses had lights on. At that moment, I clearly remember (and this was the weird part) that I had the overwhelming feeling that I Could/Should/Ought To just go right through the glass into the yard.

I put my head through and sure enough there was no resistance. It was as I was passing through the glass that I got lucid. I ended up crouched outside, staring at a row of unusual looking flowers. I tried for a quick hand rub and spin, but it was already too late. I got the usual newbie over-excitement and woke up.

      Pretty great, though!

One thing I realized now that I've been keeping a DJ is that that particular dream seemed like a "set up" for LD. All my other dreams lately have been in "random" locations and I especially noted that they've all involved interaction with people.

It's almost like most of my dreams are too "busy" for me to remember to RC (until I practice more). But being in my childhood home all alone left me enough peace and quiet to notice the dreamsign and actually do something with it...

I've had that feeling before. There was one dream I had where I saw this black worm-like thing (reminiscent of a movie I'd recently watched) and I remember thinking that if that went into my arm it would pull me into a lucid dream, and sure enough it did (and promptly disappeared upon realization that I was dreaming). I also had another dream where I met a DV member and she had a lucid dreaming machine, but right before she turned it on I woke up That one was just a little frustrating...

Well, you're definitely headed in the right direction! Keep going and best of luck as you seek to live lucid. See you around!
