      Had my first lucid dream...

I've been lurking for a while now, but had my first actual lucid dream about a week ago, felt it was time to actually start posting.

I found this site about a month ago and started trying to lucid dream ever since, dream journal and all. I find it odd though, I thought it would take several months before I achieved my first lucid dream, and the things I've read here seem to support that. The lucid dream felt awesome to accomplish, and I actually managed to complete a goal that I've had since the start. Now achieving that goal in real lifes the hard part. XD

Anyway, looking forward to discussing with you guys.

Well done, it only took me a few days but after I experienced how cool it was, excitement became a problem. Good luck with your journey to more lucids.

P.S. if you don't already you should be writing all your dreams down

Indeed I have been writing all my dreams down in a dream journal. It's funny, up until I started doing this, I used to think it was impossible for me to dream anymore, or atleast dream frequently. I used to have horrible nightmares when I was young so I trained myself to not have any at all. Of course, since reading the articles I have learned that is impossible, so it's much more likely that I had simply tricked myself into forgetting I had them at all. Luckily now (Many years later), it seems the nightmares are long gone, so nothing but kooky dreams remain. :p

Hey Tsilver33, glad to see that you have had a LD, what technique(s) did you use in order to realise that you were actually in a dream? That seems to be my problem at the moment... iv got a Dream Journal, and it believe its very successful for me at helping me record my dreams, though i am starting to remember my dreams a lot more easily when im in my dreams i find it impossible to control myself in there. Some weird things happen in some dreams and i think nothing less of them, in one a little green bird was asking me to find it's mum, when i woke up i was like "how on earth didnt i click that it was a dream!?!? haha

Lewpolian: I know what you mean, my dreams can get pretty crazy to. :p As for my technique that I used... Do you own a watch? I simply perform random reality checks throughout the day any time I see a dream sign or things just get pretty weird. A good RC is to count your fingers, make sure you have ten, then look at your watch. Cover it up, then look again. If the time changed quickly, your definently in a dream. The fingers never really seem like they would work, because in this lucid dream I actually did count my fingers and I still had ten. It's just time to think: Alright, what was I doing ten minutes before now?

Haha, i like your LD goals anyway fighting off a horde of zombies, zombies are my worst fear and sometimes come up in my dreams, except i aint fighting them off... just running away from them in absolute fear haha cheers anyway

A zombie invasion would be my favorite way to die. XD I figure if I'm going out, atleast nearly everyone else in the world is too! I like to think though that I would fare well in a zombie invasion. Assuming we're talking about slow moving ones, the moment I realized what they were I would quit panicking, single zombies are easily dispatched and are no need to cause alarm. XD So I guess that's kinda why I want to dream about a zombie invasion, because I know that out of everyone I would probably be the calmest. :p

Anyway, yeah, find something with some sort of changing number on it. Your mind doesn't really worry about those kinds of things when it's sleeping so time tends to follow no logic at all, and will literally show you random values.

Ahhh i see what you mean well i was looking forwards to my dreams this morning... but my dad barged in... opened the window and woke me up and started talking to me, after that i lost basically all memory of any dream!! > bit i do have some memory that it was some kind of beach in a cove, some kind of tropical waters, white sand and that, but i cant remember what happened lol... cheers dad!! Im thinking thats starting to be a sign for me i hope... water, iv had a few dreams about water so far lol.

I've yet to achieve any sort of dreamsign, the only thing that tipped me off was the fact that every girl in sight was pregnant in a highschool. XD Yeah, I still don't understand that. I've had some pretty crazy dreams, just a few weeks ago in a non lucid dream I entered the virtual world of "Donkey Kong" in which I was Mario, but the thing that crossed the line was every girl was pregnant. XD

If they were running zombies... Assuming I survived long enough to be in one of those 'group' situations, I would be the first one to die. Why? Because I would spend all of my time arguing about how these things couldn't possibly be zombie. :p
