      Newb question(s)

I'm sure this is a question asked by many people and I'm sure its been answered many times but, I need to make sure. Through all forms of attaining a Lucid Dream you absolutely must go through the Sleep Paralysis stage. Is that correct? And my second question is if I think about SP a lot will that make it more likely to happen and/or make it more likely for me to dream about it (Even in normal dreams)?

I have had several DILDs and never experienced SP (although I assume that it is happening)...I think it's more common to be consciously aware of it with WILDs. What method are you trying to use?

If you dont like hallucinations, Lucid Dreaming is NOT for you. A dream is only called a dream because you cant really control it. You watch it, then forget about it later in the day. But if a dream was to become a second reality, what would it be? If you are completely conscious and awake, and everything you see is fake, would that not be classified as an hallucination?

In regards to Sleep Paralysis(SP), every single person goes into SP when they go to sleep. Your mind is just asleep when this stage happens, so you dont notice it. The purpose of SP is to make it so you dont act out your dream in real life, to prevent you from getting up, walking, hitting, etc.

In the WILD process, it is likely you will experience a close stage of SP, heaviness. On the other hand, you can be completely oblivious it is happening. With all WILD tactics, you will experience some form of hallucinations, sounds, images, feelings, etc...

They become VERY easy to adjust to. ..and are well worth the LD experience!!!

No, there isn't a way to prevent it from happening. Unfortunately, if you are fearful of this state to begin with, the fear itself may prevent an LD. Go for a DILD and you're way less likely to experience SP. Honestly, I've had well over 50 LDs and have only experienced SP once as I was coming out of a non-lucid dream.

I have never woken into SP and Ive woken in the middle of dreams before. I also used to sleep walk almost every night but I dont think I do very much any more.

About 'everything being a hallucination if its fake' I know that stuff maybe I should rephrase what Im afraid of, Im afraid of scary hallucinations. And secondly when I say "A way not to go through SP" I mean a way of not realizing or sensing SP. But thanks for the explanation, I didn't know it could be adjusted to like anything else.

Sleep Paralysis is only scary if you think it will be. It can be scary at first, but once you realize that it's a natural process that can't harm you, you'll get over your fear. Besides, only in more advanced techniques like the WILD is having to go through sleep paralysis necessary. Since you're just starting out, you don't have to worry about that yet.

Besides... There are methods to get our of SP and dreams... So its not like you are stuck until you wake up.
