Hi Nicholas, welcome to Dreamviews! (:

Congratulations on the lucid dream; being able to control them just comes with practice, so don't feel discouraged if you couldn't control the first one.

A big part of lucid dreaming is dream recall, so you should start keeping a dream journal if you haven't yet. If you're having great trouble remembering dreams, try keeping a sheet of paper and a pen at your bedside. In the morning after waking from a dream, keep your eyes closed and stay relaxed in your bed, trying as hard as you can to remember something you dreamed about. Jot it down on the paper with your eyes still closed, only moving your arm and hand. This will help your mind to stay in "dream mode", helping to remember dreams.

As with induction methods, there's a bunch of tutorials here. I also have a guide that might help; it's linked under my signature picture. Maybe you're doing something wrong, or maybe it's just because you don't have dream recall. You could've had a lucid dream and not remember it.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

+1 for keeping a dream journal, it is the single most important method you can implement to help with becoming lucid

Definitely keep a dream journal! You stated that you cannot remember your dreams, so journaling may be challenging at first. Even writing down a couple words or a sentence about how you are feeling or random thoughts that have filled your mind upon waking may help with your dream recall.
