      Is it normal...

To twitch a LOT and have really really bad itches and what not when trying to WILD. Whenever i get them it just..... feels like i'm ABOUT to enter SP, i dont know how to describe it really... other than what i have wrote.

thanks in advance for your answers... it's very distracting and makes it hard to enter SP (which i have only done once on purpose)

It was our mind "testing" whether you have fallen asleep or not.
      You should ignore the itch.

Sensations like; Itches, the urge to roll-over, the urge to move your hand or arm to a different location, the urge to cross your legs, etc... Basically anything relation to an action is simply your body giving you "tests". These tests are used to check if you are awake or not. If you respond to them, your body will stop all stage progression, if you can bear through them, they will subside and your body will move to the next stage.

Muscle twitches, I think are normal. I experience them pretty ofter. My finger will move on its own, my thigh will do a series of little twitches or contractions, my leg will twitch, etc etc..

The KEY is to completely ignore all body feelings and sensations. It will be really hard to, esp when you have an itch like a mofo right on the side of your face or thigh. You CANNOT make any physical response to them.

A method that I use to use was when you have something pestering you, like an itch, start counting. See how long it lasts, try to out-play it in a manner of speaking.

One thing we can do is to take the precautionary measures to compete itches. Take a hot shower, dust free bed apparels, clean room, apply talcum powder etc and let your mind believe that there is nothing in the physical world causes you such itches/twitches. The result is, more control to these sensations.

Wow, thanks that helped a lot, ill definitely try the counting thing, also... may be silly question but is it ok if i swallow my spit while trying to WILD (i sometimes feel like i REALLY have to swallow my spit) also, is it ok to daydream while this is going on because it can get boring waiting for SP to set in, im just worried if i daydream ill either A: fall asleep or B:not enter SP.

      Hi!
I've also been having trouble with twitching. Feels a bit like what dogs look like when they're dreaming, but it's even more intense, almost all the muscles are involved and they also cramp. I don't think showering etc would help in that? Possibly stretching?

Anyway, I'm glad I found this thread, will try to ignore the twitches. (Right now I'm quite tired and my finger just twitched...)

EVERYONE asks this question and goes through it. It is 100% okay to swallow. As you enter Stage-1 and progress to Stage-3 you will begin to lose focus on your body as it relaxes and begin to put attention on the things you still have pri_control over (eg. Your tongue, spit, jaw/mouth, head, and eyes). You will feel the urge to want to keep swallowing and move your tongue/jaw. It is okay to do so, try not to move your head though. As you get deeper into Stage-3 and closer to Stage-4, your mouth will become dry, and that urge will subside.

...and yesterday, OMG!! I had the WORST series of itches and twitches. I had an itch on my eye, my cheek, my neck, my thigh and side.. I counted up to 37seconds.. It was intense, but they all suddenly went away and i was onto the next stage. - You just have to hang in there like most of us do.

Oh jeeze... That is a lot of twitching. You MIGHT want to get that looked at. There are actual health conditions similar to that.

Okay then... I doubt it will affect your attempts at WILD, considering you arent consciously giving the commands. They are involuntary.

Last night I was twitching again, so I tried very gently relaxing my limbs, and it worked. My first WILD

Once I become very relaxed and have been still for a little while, I get random muscle twitches. They're not huge, but they're large enough to be felt. It's best to just ignore them because they're not as big a bother as itching!

I think everyone gets itches every once in a while, but it's best to just scratch the hell out of them then, instead of keeping still and constantly thinking about them; it'll impede your WILD progress because you can't relax.

      Congratulations!

some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.
