I'm new, and wanting to LD tonight! Need help PLEASE!

So after reading many of the tutorials I still felt confused about how to Lucid Dream.

Basically, I am confused on how to start these Dreams.
Do i just go to bed, get into a comfortable position , wait till I dream and do a reality check?

Is a good reality check to count the number of fingers you have? I heard if you are dreaming you may have more or less fingers.

      - Last night I slept for 5-6 hours then woke up, as usual i go to the toilet. When i get up my vision is really hazy , and somehow manage to stumble to the toilet and back to bed, falling back to sleep instantly.

      * Usually I feel like i'm watching myself in a movie whilst dreaming.

(probably off topic) Anyway once i fell asleep i had this dream and i was standing outside my house and there was some evil guy inside .

All of a sudden I pulled out a thermal imaging gun ( I had recently been playing Call of Duty Modern Ware fare 2 ) and saw the "evil" thing hiding behind my front door.

I felt as If i was coming to my senses and realized that I was in a dream somehow, because as i was looking through the thermal gun I zoomed onto the "evil thing" and he was wearing shoes. To be specific "nikes" I could see the big Nike tick , I really wanted to laugh.

But then it ended, Suddenly i forgot what just happened and my dream carried on as if I was watching a movie as usual.

Has this any relevance to Lucid Dreaming?

I really want to have a proper LD where I can imagine things and make things happen

I know it may take a long time to master.
Please tell me what you do to prepare to LD. I mean how do you know that you will dream that night?

You dream every night, you just don't remember it sometimes.

The easiest way is to perform reality checks throughout the day, whenever you remember. While you are counting your fingers, or whatever you are doing, you MUST NOT expect to have five fingers. You have to really question each time, otherwise, when you do it in your dream, you won't think it's weird and you won't become lucid.

Yeah, so if you get into a habit of this, you will eventually automatically do it in your dream.

HOWEVER what's the point if you don't remember the dream?
While you are falling asleep, just think to yourself "I will remember my dream tonight", and believe it will work. It works for me

      Good luck!

      Hey LimboCity thanks for answering.

My dreams always seem to end right at the climax when something awesome is about to happen. Often I realise that I am dreaming at the last moment and it instantly ends.

I heard there is another reeality check where you can hold your nose and try breathe, Ill try that one tonight hopefully : )

Im so excited at the thought of one day being able to have some control over a dream !!
