      Revived

I had a dream that I was at a party and I didn't know anyone. Then, I see an old classmate and I tap him on the shoulder and say his name. He then turns around and shoots me right in the face with a pistol. I black out and then my vision comes back and I was revived. What does this mean?

*chokes* Dude, that's awesome. It came out of nowhere.

I'm not sure if it means anything. I've had the same sort of dream, getting shot in the face with a shotgun and then reviving a few moments later (there were zombies involved). Spectacular special effects, the head explosion was pretty neat.

Um... anyway. Any conflict at all with this old classmate? Are you nervous about anything IRL?

Also, the Dream Interpretation forum. It beckons.

Welcome to DV! Stick around for a bit.

It could just be a cool dream, no hidden motive behind it. The only thing I can come up with is that you might be expecting something bad to happen, like a nasty surprise. That's why I mentioned the nervousness.

How emotionally involved were you while this is happening? On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being sheer terror and 1 being "meh".

Sometimes is hard to evaluate a dream away from your head, sometimes the dreamer know what is going on.

Sometimes our subconscious needs to deliver a message to us and it is done through dreams. Is this nightmare recurring? Have you experience similarities in other dreams?

A good way to find out what is going on, is throughout a lucid dream. While lucid you can talk to threatening characters and ask them what is going on.

We have plenty of tutorials and people around to help you out! Drop me a PM if you have any questions.

Dreams usually need to be interpreted as symbols, they are not to be interpreted literally. In this case, your friend most likely does not represent himself at all. You say he is an old schoomate. Perhaps he represents your past. Is there some issue from your past that is causing you stress? You also say that you were at a party where you didn't know anyone but him, so he may be interpreted as a source of confort in a lonely environment. This is far-fetched but maybe he represents someone you trust or trusted that hurt you in some way.

What you all have to understand is that dreams are not built around logic.

Anything that happens means nothing. It was simply what your brain was thinking about at the time.

I beg to differ. Dreams can be extremely meaningful. However, I agree that dreams aren't built around logic, which is why it's useless to try to interpret them literally. But, again, this does not imply that they have no meaning.

I always say that i keave the dream in interpetation to the dreamer but i will try to help you out. (i believe that dreams mean things but they dont tell the future,)

With the party im thinkng celebration. maybe you have had some good news lately and have a reason to celebrate. The secondn thing is the man that shot you and ruined the party. Maybe someone is ruining the thing that you are happy about. Maybe it was was so unpredicted and you didnt see the good thing comming.

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride
