Going for my first lucid tonight.

Hey guys! I've only just heard about lucid dreaming, and it amazed me, the thought of being in your own dream world where almost anything can become possible.
So for the past 2 nights i've been trying to WILD, and i always get the the stage where my body becomes numb, and i see faint shapes, but thats it.. All day today i've been randomly RCing every 10-20 minutes, and every time i walk through a doorway. I really really want my first lucid tonight, and this is how i'm going to go about it.

Im going to set an alarm for 6 1/2 hours after i get into my bed (half an hour or so to get to sleep) then I'm going to go to sleep while constantly saying in my mind "I'm going to go into a dream and become aware that I am dreaming, and become lucid" If my reality checks do not work in the first 6 hours of sleeping and i don't achieve my first lucid, i'm going to stay up for 10 minutes then perform a WILD, hoping to drift into a lucid, if I end up just falling asleep im going to have to rely on my reality checks.
I'm really looking forward to my first lucid, wither its tonight, or in the next few months.

I will post the results in the morning, that me away now to try for my first lucid

Good luck Sam. Hopefully you will have your first one tonight, but if you don't don't get worried . It took me about 3 weeks for my first one after I started practicing but it could be very different for you.

The thing is: even if you don't have a LD for a few more nights or weeks, what's the worst that can happen? Sleep like a normal person? lol

      Good luck

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride

      Good luck.
Try to create a short mantra, this one looks long. Try just: "I lucid dream" or "I will be aware while dreaming".

Well guys, i didn't have a lucid dream, but i missed so many opportunities to RC, its like my conscience was trying to get me to RC.. :L during the day ive been performing a RC randomly, and also every time i walk through a doorway, and in my dream last night i was at a door shop, looking for a new door, and i had to test every single one, i must of walked through about 100 doors and forgot to RC, so im going to get into the habit of RCing while walking through doors and hope it carries on.. One thing i noticed though was a massive dream recall!

Congratulations on the good dream recall, if you have good recall you're halfway there.

As for RC's, I know exactly how you feel, that happens to me all the time.
In my last dream I tried to put on my glasses, but they had 3 lenses for some reason.
I couldn't figure out how to put them on, so I started touching my face to find my 3rd eye so I could position the glasses correctly.
I was fiddling about for at least a minute, and it didn't cross my mind to RC

But with practice it will happen! I've become lucid 3 times using RC's now.
I performed them out of habit even though I knew I wasn't dreaming.
Sure enough after the RC I knew I actually was, and suddenly I noticed all the dream signs around me.
How could I not notice those?!

      Good luck!
      Dreams are simple.
It's the painfully simple things the human mind cannot comprehend.
After all your mind is trained to understand the complexity of the waking world,
not the simplicity of the dream world.
