Fear of SP ? |
I've been very interested in Lucid dreaming lately, and as far as i remember i have only tried it twice, on random occasions. First time was extremely short, and second time was a very bizarre dream after i had smoked some weed at a party. |

Fear of SP ? |
First of all welcome to DV, the first step to LDing is not to be afraid of anything because basically there is nothing to fear from . |
The only thing to fear about sleep paralysis is fear itself. |
Hmmm... |
Dream goals: Fly (hopfully grow wings), meet some fairies (especially out of a midsummer nights dream), compose a story or poem and remember it when I awake, meet Sylvia Plath or William Shakespeare.
Thank you for your answers. |

If the problem is that you fear darkness then it got nothing to do with SP, you're not encountering it but your imagination does, its even embarrassing to tell that you are afraid of darkness, simply because nothing is happening there but a bunch of brain Bullshit taken from movies, stories or whatever . In simpler words, you're smarter than your imagination so you can easily control your fear, if you didn't control your fear now you can't control it then . I hope that SP is a good reason to start now . |

Does anyone have a good mantra for MILD? |
I do use MILD , This technique depends mostly on contacting your brain "ordering" him to make a lucid dream using motivational words or just normal ones like : "Am gonna have a lucid dream, and am gonna be aware of that " ( my favorite quote |
I think you need to do a little more reasearch before you try to give people help. ( i dont mean this to sound rude) |

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride
Sleep paralysis isn't that scary. I actually learned to ignore it. |
I also have a question about dream journals. |
Well, you don't really need one if you don't want too. But it will help you memorize your dreams the more you right in it. Just right down as much as you remember and you will soon remember your dreams more clearly and there will be more detail in your LDs. |
Yeah, I'm pretty sure you can. If I remember correctly I think I have done it before. |
Dream journals drastically help your recall. I recomend this 100% |

So this is what i'm going to do (What i learned so far): |

Alright. Good luck. |

From what I have read about SP it can be scary if it happens without you trying to do it, but if your intentions when you are attempting to go into SP are to LD, then your mind will be focused on that and the scary parts of it usually don't happen. Also, if you start to freak out I also read that if you change your breathing from your normal sleep breathing to something else you will come out of it in 10-15 seconds. You can control things like your breathing or your mouth while in SP so just do something different and your body will realize that your mind is awake. At least that's what I have read. I have failed to actually obtain SP on my own so I can't really speak from experience. |
Alright. |
