      Exclamation Lucid Dreams....

Hey I'm new to this place, and kinda new to lucid dreams. I've had dreams where I know I'm dreaming, but I don't really go lucid. One time I flew but I didn't know I was dreaming. I just want some tips on how to get lucid. Most the time I know I'm dreaming when I do, but most the time it's not lucid. I hope you can help.

Welcome! First of all, do you keep a dream journal? If not, you pretty much MUST. It's essential to remember your dreams and noticing signs to become lucid in the future. Just look around here on the forums and you'll find lots of information on it. Check out the wiki!

Well, I don't have one, but if I have to, I'll make a Dream Journal. Does it have to be a certain type of notebook?
EDIT: Oh, it's on the site....

Anything with paper in it is fine. haha, since you can have a lucid dream during the night, and not remember it. So if you wake up and tell yourself, "I'll remember this in the morning" you usually won't. Some times I get lazy and do that, but most of the time, in the darkness I just write a little fragment of the dream to remind me of it when I wake up, then put the full details in. Most lucid dreams, to me, stay stuck in my head for the day at least. But better safe than sorry. Right?

it can be any notebook, hell i use a spiral notebook

read previous entries from your journal, and try to recognize reoccurring dream signs, like for me that would be technology and jungles appear a lot. (yes the technology part makes my dreams very interesting considering it doesn't work all the time lol)

since i see a lot of computers in my dreams, i do a reality check whenever i go on the computer, and i can't do the jungle thing because i live on an island....and i would basically be doing it all the time.

also look up lots of info on different methods, or how lucid dreams work. I would suggest the MILD technique because it has worked the best for me, but not everybody is the same.

Also you are a lucky individual, you are kinda ahead in the LD game, because you already realize you are dreaming sometimes. When I first started, i barely even remembered my dreams, now I usually have very vivid dreams.

Remember, lucid dreaming takes time, it doesn't just happen, it took me a month to get my first LD!

Welcome to dreamviews! Though I think you might have a misunderstanding about lucid dreaming. "Being lucid" is knowing that you are dreaming when it is happening. So:
I've had dreams where I know I'm dreaming, but I don't really go lucid.
      You contradict yourself.

Lucidity has nothing to do with control, though being lucid often makes control worlds easier.

As for being more aware, do as the guys said and keep a dream journal and look for dream-signs. I like to use a recorder, personally, so I don't have to get up to write a dream (making dream chains moreso a possibility) then you can type it up on the computer (or write it down) in the morning. But if you want to get into an easy way of having more lucids, look into the DILD method in the tutorials section. It is a great starting method that should play off your dream journal quite well. If you want something a bit different and don't mind waking up in the middle of the night, you can look up one of the various WBTB methods which are highly effective.

Anyway, good luck with your dreams!

Well, I had a lucid dream I think... And I made a thread about it. You should check it out. It included telekinesis and controlling a person's speech.
