      Hello

First I would like to introduce myself, my name is Neil I am from western NY. Recently I have been doing a great deal of self exploration. My journey has led me to an unfathomable series of events, coincidences, people, places, ideas, books, movies etc. I feel like I am being guided through life by my higher self. I am aware of this process and perhaps it helps it happen in actuality. Anyways, I have been drawing things (i am not an artist so I use mathematics charts VIA paint or something) which I did not previously know to be directly related to tetraktys. From there my mind developed new understandings and crystallizations. I came across Pascal's Pyramid, the Fibonacci sequence, Mandalas, and just a large wealth of information which pertained directly to my current thought process. My study brought be to Mayan pyramids, the formation of the reason for them ancient philosophy, dialectal exchange, many religions and the truth behind them as well as the fiction.. It's been a long arduous journey but a journey i am glad to be a part of as opposed to being some pre-programed zombie working, eating, shitting, sleeping and repeating daily.

That being said i was led here. Again following signs that seemed so obvious in my mind, I wont go into much detail on how the truth behind the Illuminati and not the perceptions of others have influenced me greatly. Got me to look into Illuminism, the Tetraktys, Buddism, Taoism, etc really just the process of opening my mind, I have some rather unique thoughts and will in the future share but I want to get to dreaming.

I feel that learning to recognize I am dreaming, eventually controlling them, and remembering them fully will lead me to a happier more fulfilling life as I can see the use of such a technique as highly enticing to my every day life. I virtually never remember dreaming. I know scientifically i dream every night. I know I have some fascinating dreams probably. I wish to explore my subconscious and more than that I wish to remember this exploration as to bring it into existence in my real life. I realize I do this subconsciously as everything can be attributed to the Fibonacci sequence and for some reason my mind flocked to this idea along with Tetraktys, Pascal's Pyramid, and everything else so this process IS working I just have no recollection of it. I want control. I don't want to go through life with vague memories of something that is familiar. I want to notice something out of place, associate it with my dream and take a new concept or realization from it. This is impossible if i can never remember my dreams.

I have been reading through many of the tutorials and while I felt they would be helpful they have no actually done anything in regards to helping me remember. I was hoping someone could assist me in my dream world ventures.

I am first trying to make this realization in my mind that i could very well be dreaming at this very instant. Am i the product of someone elses dream? Am i here because I am being thought about and envisioned by some other entity? I have been trying different things to change my mindset. recently I began pinching my nose and attempting to breath proving to myself I am awake. It has not worked yet. The dream journal i see will help me greatly, when in fact i can first remember ANY dream. I have no starting point to begin this journey.

I guess i am asking what might be my best chance to remember a dream once I awake. I have tried setting an alarm for 6 hours after my I plan on going to sleep. Waking up resetting it for 3.5-5 hours waking with no memory of what was going on while I was sleeping. I feel I have detached myself completely from my dreaming world and as I awake I am instantly brought into the only reality my awoken mind knows.

I guess a little guidance is all I really need as I am determined to remember my dreams. I do know I am dreaming 100% it is a function of the human body, I guess trying to keep myself aware of my body or worldly surroundings as i fall asleep could link me between both worlds so as I awake I may have some sort of reference to do this? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Well, are you often stressed? I find that when I am stressed that I have problems remembering my dreams. Also, I've heard from others on here, that if you just lay with your eyes closed for a while after awakening that your dream may come back to you. It's helped me remember my dreams. Or if you read other dream journal entries on here then it might make you remember. You can read mine sometime if you want to. Welcome to Dream Views by the way, I just joined also, and I hope that this has helped you!
      Happy dreaming!

On the contrary, the current path i am on in life is astounding to me and I have been more excited than ever to live life. Although this might be the same concept, perhaps i am dwelling too heavily on worldly matters and am just convinced in my mind these are the only ones that matter. Stress is not really the issue I feel however as in the past, my entire past, dreams have not been something I remembered. Very rarely would I awake from a dream and remember it. I realize before I can even begin to Lucid Dream I must overcome this obsticle. I will try laying in bed directly after waking up and trying to put myself back in some alpha, delta, or theta state and see how this goes, I know if I can get my mind to come to the realization that i was dreaming and remember part of the dream I should be able to take off from there and begin a dream journal and begin the whole process of Lucid Dreaming. that is my goal at least.

Also how would one look up a specific persons dream journal such as yours? Anything that will help me at this point would be great. Thank you for your reply by the way.

Welcome to Dreamviews KilleN! If you are seeking help with lucid dreaming, you came to the right place. I find that if I read some of the dream journal entries helps with my recall, and also lying in my bed thinking of my dream also helps. I hope I was helpful!

The problem here Zark is not gaining lucidity. It is remembering my dream to begin with. So laying in bed thinking of something I cannot begin to have any frame of reference of is nigh impossible. I first need to master having any knowledge of having dreamt once i awaken from my sleep. Without this ability I fear the rest is useless.

While I do not have been looking up the things you're talking about (because frankly I don't need them personally), I do understand the point you make when you say you think that remembering and controlling your dreams will lead to an even fuller and happier life...
That's certainly what happened to me because before this I used to think sleeping was a waste of time, while actually there's a whole world hidden in our head waiting to be explored!

Anyways, on to your problem. Remembering dreams is not really that hard. I noticed, just by talking about mine to my girlfriend, her recall has gone up. It seems that the brain, as soon as it is confronted with enough interest in the dreams that happen every night, will automatically start paying more attention to them. With as a result, better recall, and the best part: overall increase in vividness (this is ofcourse personal so don't take my word that it's going to happen to you too).

Autosuggestion might be a powerful tool. When you go to bed, say to yourself (in your head or out loud, don't think it matters) that you want to remember your dream when you wake up. Keep repeating this mantra to yourself, and mean it. It helps having a clear mind when doing this, and if possible, make it your last thought before you fall asleep. Also, when waking up, move as little as possible and take a few minutes thinking about what you've dreamt. It can be that at first you won't remember a thing, as you've said is the case, but I have noticed that suddenly one thought jumps through your mind and then it's possible to bring alot of it back. Just keep out the things that are going to happen in the day ahead of you, don't think of them yet, try keeping your mind clear and remember...

If at first it's only a little bit, don't despair Your brain will grow accustomed to this and you'll see that soon you'll remember more and more...

      Just my 2 cents :p

Thanks for the reply Ayanizz, you've been very helpful. I guess I can't talk to people about my dreams but I can involve myself in others, I plan on using my 4 year old niece for this. Well see how that goes. Ive worn myself out pretty bad today, I am exhausted so well see where that takes me. Is that generally better or worse for dreams?
