      ok then, text wall coming....
      it was a DILD, Dream Induced Lucid Dream, because you realised you were dreaming in the middle of the dream. If this is your first LD don't be surprised it only lasted 5 seconds. First of all you have to stabilize by using your senses. just look around you and feel stuff. Usually this will also make your dream a lot less fuzzy, which will help you control it. Remember, always stabilize first. WILD (Wake Induced Lucid Dream) is if you fall asleep without ever losingh consiousness. So you feel yourself falling asleep and entering the dream.

      I guess one of my questions is if you wake up in the middle of a dream, do you go back into it as soon as soon as you fall back asleep?

      Yes, if you wake up from a dream and lay still and not open your eyes you can re-enter the same dream within a minute, that would be a DEILD - Dream Exit Induced Lucid Dream. But it will not always work :p
