Questions about dream recall and dream journal :)

      Hello people!
      Here comes some newbie questions:
I usually remember quite much from my dreams, but it is not very cohesive. It is like I remember things I dreamt about but not in which order or context. Is it really important to get the dream fragments in the right order?
Also, Im usually very tired in the mornings and way too tired for writing any long texts before i go to school, so I usually just write keywords in my dream journal and then write the full text later that day. Can it decrease my dream recall doing like that?

      Thanks
      /Johanna

It's not that important to recall dreams in the proper order; it's more about the content and how much you can remember in that specific dream.

As for your method of recalling dreams, that's exactly what I do. I write down keywords or quick sentences in the middle of the night or morning, then on the way to school I type them up fully on my ipod touch. Then, when I get home and I've recalled everything I possibly can from that night, I type them up on my DV journal.

It shouldn't hinder your ability to recall dreams.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I often have the same problem, even in waking life. It isn't that important to chronologically order fragments, imho, just get the basic ideas down on paper if you can. Often I find that if I give recall a short break and do some other activities, I'll remember subtleties from the dream that I never noticed before.

      That happens to me, too.

Thanks a lot for your replies Well I agree on that it often is easier remember dreams after some other activities, so I guess I will keep doing things like I do now
