New to LD, have a few questions :D

I've known about LD's for a while, never tried them. Until one night I accidentally did a wild (I was tired and did pretty much everything the guide said before I ever read it). Anyway, it was an awesome experience, I woke up after I flew for what seemed to be a few minutes.

I would be pleased if someone could answer these questions:
      1) Is it possible to have lucid dreams unintentionally? I never noticed a dream sign, I just became lucid randomly.

      2) About how long does it take to have a LD fairly often (or at will)? I know everyone is different, maybe an average, or how long it took you.

      3) Can you have a lucid dream in a lucid dream? (Inception, lol)

      4) Which technique would be the easiest for a beginner/ which one would be the most efficient (for anyone, not only a beginner?)\

Thanks, I'll start posting here now as well. The community seems great after reading for a few days but being too lazy to sign up :p.

      Hi and welcome to Dreamviews!

      1) It is entirely possible to have lucid dreams "unintentionally". Usually people become lucid just from suddenly realizing they're dreaming, and not by seeing a dream sign or doing an RC. If you aren't aware or conscious when you do an RC, you probably won't become lucid.

      2) It took me a week to have my first lucid dream (DILD technique). From what I've seen around the forum, lots of people get their first one within a few weeks; others take more or less time.

      3) There's not really such thing as a "dream within a dream". There is such thing as a dream that ends, and a new one that begins right after it that seems like it's inside the previous dream. It's called a false awakening. Every dream starts and ends, but you can't have one inside another. You can't wake up into another dream, but you can leave that dream and start a new one that makes it seem like you've woken up into it.

      4) I'd suggest having a look at DILD (dream induced lucid dream), MILD (mnemonic induced lucid dream), and WILD (wake induced lucid dream) tutorials. DILD is what I'd consider to be the easiest technique of the three, then MILD, then WILD.

You can find the tutorials in the Dreamviews Wiki. I have my own DILD tutorial too, in my signature, if you'd like to check it out.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask me or another Dream Guide!
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Thanks, I always wanted to say somewhat offtopic, that the LD I had was very very very cool. It was a feeling of utterless freedom before I awoke.

That brings me to another question:
Why did I wake up so suddenly? It was so fun and I was mad that I couldn't enter the same dream again -_-.

You probably became too excited; it's not as uncommon as you might think. Lots of people wake up in their first LD.
As you have more, you'll probably develop a slightly higher threshold for excitement so you won't wake up as easily. And you might not even become super excited either, anymore because you know what to expect.

Thanks for the great answers. I also read your guide, I'll try it tonight. I have lots of time to practice since I'm 13 (now, let's hope there isn't an age limit on this forum, or I'm screwed).
I always thought that dreams were uncontrollable, and you were basically stuck in the storyline. Interesting world we live in.

I believe the minimum is 13, so you're fine.
And yeah, dreams can be near totally controllable. You can do anything - control DCs, control what you look like, control where you are... It's fascinating.
