      I'm Lynn

      Hello, I am new and hope people are nice here. I wake up every morning and record my dreams I have. It is very rare for me not to know what I dreamt about. At the most, I remembered eight dreams in one night. I have had two lucid dreams, that I remember and one dream where I was so excited from being lucid that I woke myself up. (This happened the first night I started dream recall and attepmeted lucid dreaming). My most recent lucid dream I have had trouble remembering, because it wasn't even vivid. I flew, I did anything I wanted, but I was bored, so I'd like to learn how to lucid dream better. I have never had a fun lucid dream, that I remember. I normally dream about something I think about during the day, something simple. I have reaccuring nightmares where I am in "hell" where it is dark and I keep falling, and everytime I have this I go through sleep paralysis. I know I could turn it into a fun dream, because I know that I am dreaming everytime it happens. Although, I am more focused on getting out of the dream than actually lucid dreaming when in that nightmare. I started having a dream journal on November 31st, and every date has an entry. So, I am rather new to this dreaming thing. I love it though. Out of all of the dates I have had, I missed one dream, if that. So, does anyone have any ideas on how to improve lucid dreaming, and how to have them more often? Also: I do and will not use devices or drugs. I am 14.

      How's it going, Lynn? Welcome to Dream Views!

      I swear, we Floridians are slowly taking over this site. Hahahaha.

      Anyway, how big is your sense of adventure? I started out much like you, in that I would always get nightmares, and my first instinct was always to just 'eject' myself from the dream. It still happens every now and then, if something startles me too much. But, over time, I just started saying "well, it's my dream. I shouldn't feel like I have to run away." Instead of running away, stay and fight, or just ignore and explore.

      If you are falling into Hell, and you realize you are dreaming, fly upward, instead. Why not see what Heaven is like? You don't even have to fly all the way there. Use your fingers and imagine yourself slicing a hole in space/time. Step through the rip, and imagine that you will be in Heaven, on the other side. Be creative! Think about some things that you would like to try, while you are awake, so that you might more easily remember to do them, when dreaming.

      You seem to already have great recall, and no problem with keeping a journal, so you have two of the most important steps out of the way. From the looks of it, you are best at DILD (Dream-Induced Lucid Dreaming), which is the one that I'm best at, myself. There are plenty of tutorials and other tips/tricks, scattered about the site. Try using the search function for anything DILD-related. If you have any more specific questions, don't hesitate to ask around. (Yes; the people here are generally very nice.) And enjoy your stay!

      I've recently had my first Lucid Dream two nights ago and even though it lasted for around five minutes it felt amazing! When I woke up I felt really happy and positive.
