      Time/length of a LD

okay i wanted to now... what is the normal length of time a decent lder spends in a Ld?? My first felt like about 10-15 minutes,I flew most of the time though. Anyway and what's the max amount of time?? B/c 10 mins doesn't seem like you have time to do anything much.. thx for any replies

Well that depends. For me though, the ones in the early night can be only 10mins or less, while later on the night, they are up to half an hour or more.

It all depends on your experience and ability to maintain dream stability, some people can have dreams end after several seconds and others can maintain dreams for hours on end.

How can someone stay in a LD for hours?? Time distortion?

Something like that, but I don't recommend it, for me it gives headaches <.<
Also, you could try to have a LD after being sleep-deprived (But don't induce it) that generally gives REM-Rebound

I don't understand what you mean by time distortion but only those that are incredibly experienced can achieve it.

I use a very similar technique, its in that thread actually lol
Just that of course, I don't go to a blank place to do it, just use my surroundings as anchors to the dream, then count from 1 to 60, thinking of how each second I count, becomes slower in my perception, making the time I experience in the dream longer than the time in waking. But as I said, headaches, not worth it.

I mean that your REM periods don't last for that long so you wouldn't be able to stay lucid for hours but Time distortion will make it feel like that.

Anywhere from 3 seconds to an hour and a half.

And I also experience headaches when making time longer.

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride

Well, in a full night? It seemed like 14 hours or so. But that is using several dreams, and it wasn't worth it <.<
