Try taking vitamin B6 or drinking a glass of apple juice before bed; they can improve how well you remember your dreams, and how vivid they are. You can also try observing things more in real life, and the details might transfer over to your dreams so they don't seem as vague. I find myself describing dreams in insane detail sometimes; the day I had those dreams, I was more aware and observant than normal.
