My dream recall is terrible, help?!

Whenever I wake up I cant remember dreams at all even if I lie still after I wake, my mind just goes completely blank. Any tips or help?

Start a dream journal but only write a brief summary of what you did during the day before going to sleep, until you remember some dreams. There was a thread here about that which seems to have helped a lot of people with recall. Also, thinking about everything you did during the day in fast-rewind mode will help.

Go over words or phrases in your head and see if they resonate. Even picking up a small fragment is progress, which should eventually turn into larger fragments and then full dreams. Drink apple juice or take some vitamin B6 an hour before bed. If you can, wake up in the middle of the night and try remembering dreams then, when they're clearer and when you're still in REM.

Be active during the day and maybe you'll just suddenly remember something! If you're going to school for example, it might remind you that you had a dream about a teacher.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

try waking up a few hours earlier and seeing if you remember any dreams, sleep for another hour and then see again. you will be surpirsed at how many dreams you can forget with an hour
