getting by the 1-2 seconds of lucidityany help

ive had 7 lucids now that last 1-2 seconds then wake up
ive trained my mind to look at my hands instantly on realisation
was wondering is this the right thing to do ?
should i concentrate on letting the dream visuals form or do a different reality check
i should be able to re train my mind no problem to a new strategy
      any advice thx
      respect ;]

As soon as you become lucid, your brain immediately starts making connections between the dream world and the real world which will often wake you up. Especially when you immediately become excited upon the instant of lucidity. That is why, when you become lucid, don't let is phase you. Act like you've done this thousands of times before, and that it's no big deal (even though it is a big deal... to some of us). This calmness will help you to retain lucid, however, if you are to calm and are not thinking about keeping your consciousness, then you will often fade right back into a normal dream. So do your best to find that equilibrium of an aware yet calm and collected mind.

      Hope this helps.

You are starting off well you just need to maintain a relaxed composer and take things slow. Don't attempt to fly right off the bat, walk and take everything into perspective.

Interacting more with the dream world is also supposed to help prolong lucidity. Pay attention to the details or the objects around you. Rub your hands together, or touch your surroundings. Rubbing your hands together is supposed to work really well. The only problem is that the effect wears off once you stop. Spinning around is also supposed to work for most people.

One of my dream characters played this game with me. Its called Hands. Immediately upon being lucid, stabilize, then grab a DC's hand around you. When they try and pull away, HOLD ON, and pay attention to the sensation. It will take your focus and concentration. You may see some interesting things, like a nice girls ass, bent over, keep on holding. Pay attention to what is around you, but don't let go. Hold on for as long as you can. Once you've held on for a set limit( like 5 minutes), do whatever you want.
All of experience is fun for me, whether in a dream, or in reality, because I love existing, learning, and continuously evolving and sustaining. Then again, who knows, I may not enjoy existing so much if I caught a face full of buckshot from an angry farmer. But hey, at least I'd got out with a bang.

I HEARD using all five senses keeps you lucid. Try to say something like, "Become lucid." Or something like that over and over. Also, being relaxed can help, too. Just keep reminding yourself that it's a dream, and try to use all senses. You could also say, "Increase vividness." To make the picture better.

      thx for replys community ;]
had 2 more 1-2 second lucids this morning
      changed tactics this time
fisrt one i went straight for hand rub but defo got too excited and it faded
2nd one was maybe a second longer as i paused for slightly longer before trying to reality check [with putting tounge to roof of mouth]
going to try and do no reality checks to start next time and maybe start working on feeling my feet and attempting to get some other senses
touching something is my immediate goal for my next ld ;]
looking back at my notes immediately going for a reality check isnt working
but slowly im learning the best way for me
at least im becoming aware im dreaming more often
respect to all will keep you posted
