      Question my dreams in general

ok so im new to all this lucid dreaming and other dream terms...
i know i have dreams and they can be very interesting the only thing is i have the hardest time ever remembering my dreams.
i want to start a dream journal but im afraid i wont be able to record anything.
Another thing that bothers me the most is that when i am dreaming and i realize it, i feel like i am only watching a movie and not experiencing the dream.
basically im asking for advice on what i can do or what will help me regarding recalling and remembering my dreams.
      YOUR HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED

A dream journal will definitely help you remember your dreams. Why would you be afraid you won't be able to record anything? Get a notebook and pen and put them beside your bed. When you wake up, try to remember your dreams, then record them. Write down anything you can remember, even vague scenes or images. Eventually, after writing for a while, you'll be able to remember more.

Maybe you aren't fully realizing you're dreaming. You would probably feel like you were experiencing the dream more if you tried to do things. Feel the walls, walk, try to fly, etc.

(This is weird. How come it appears, at least on my browser, "When you wake wake up", but when I go to edit it, the word 'wake' appears only once? The 'wake's are on different lines. When I decrease the browser width to make the word not appear at the end of a line, it's fine. Is this a forum error? I'm not dreaming!)

I will definitely try a dream journal. When I dream I know that my mind is capable of anything because I've always had a good imagination but couldn't bring it out unless i was sleeping.

I think I have a hard time realizing when Im dreaming like you said...I will try to explain what I experience when sleeping/dreaming
I have a hard time falling asleep so I try to dream in between waking and sleeping. I know im conscious of my thoughts and i can control them however I cannot see the thoughts clearly...its like a haze is covering what i want to see and before I know it I am asleep and then I lose my memory...

(Im not sure about the wake situation...It appears fine in my browser although I almost made myself see it for a second.)

I've had the problem before of knowing that you're dreaming, but at the same time not really being aware. My advice is to try WBTB, WILD, or any of the techniques where you can choose when to LD, so you can aim to become lucid at the best time of your REM.

Thanks mattbrox I was just looking up the WBTB and WILD threads and they don"t seem to hard to accomplish. Hopefully tonight I can experience a lucid dream...I'm going to use the WBTB and see what happens from there.
