A dream journal will definitely help you remember your dreams. Why would you be afraid you won't be able to record anything? Get a notebook and pen and put them beside your bed. When you wake up, try to remember your dreams, then record them. Write down anything you can remember, even vague scenes or images. Eventually, after writing for a while, you'll be able to remember more.
Maybe you aren't fully realizing you're dreaming. You would probably feel like you were experiencing the dream more if you tried to do things. Feel the walls, walk, try to fly, etc.
(This is weird. How come it appears, at least on my browser, "When you wake wake up", but when I go to edit it, the word 'wake' appears only once? The 'wake's are on different lines. When I decrease the browser width to make the word not appear at the end of a line, it's fine. Is this a forum error? I'm not dreaming!)
