Yes, I still recommend keeping a journal because the journal isn't only used for remembering dreams. The process of remembering/recording and reading your Dream Journal will keep Lucid Dreaming in the back of your mind at all times. I have became lucid because in I dream I said, "I have to remember to write that in my DJ." Boom! I became lucid just because I was keeping a journal. The DJ itself can lead to lucid dreams without doing anything but logging dreams. Now, if you have an excellent memory, you may not have to write as much detail as most. You can just jot down notes or whatnot. Also, a lot of people (myself included) enjoy reading others dreams. Not just for entertainment, but to learn from others experiences/get ideas from other dreamers. Of course, I still recommend keeping a journal even if you don't want to make it public.
Just because you have to force your eyes closed doesn't mean you will fail. Its best to try not to move much, but it isn't required. Often times, I will hit SP right after I roll over to a comfortable position. Try to be still, but if you get uncomfortable and want to move...go ahead and get comfortable. Just stay relaxed and continue whatever technique you use. If you have problems with not moving techniques, you can always give my technique a try. It works well for some, but like every technique, it depends on the dreamer. Just give a bunch of different WILD techniques a go and see what is best for you. Also, if your eyes are having trouble with excessive movement. Lay awake in pitch black dark for 15 or so minutes and give your eyes time to adjust to darkness. Good Luck
