      control your actions in dreams

      Hi there,
I hate dreaming, and LD in particular. 90 percent of my dreams are nightmares.
I do LD quite offten although sometimes it takes me trough 3 or 4 layers(dreams) to properly LD or get out of it. I always remember my dreams, almost to the smallest detail and I can recognise changing patterns, archetypes, subcontectects of my dreams. Predicting events of the day from a dream is a childs play for me.
Sometimes when it gets too intense I smoke few joints to "kill my mind" in order to have dreamless night. Now, I wonder if someone would have any advise as to how to control my actions in dreams, specially physical activities. I've seen a post from another member with similar problem; he couldn't run properly in his drem and the more he tried the slower he went as if paralised ( no repies to his post tho).
Any ideas on how can I control my paralised body in dreams(movement, speed, strengh etc.). I'd appreciate any insights.

      Welcome to DreamViews.

Here is a great thread about how to run faster in dreams.

      http://www.dreamviews.com/f14/how-ru...-dreams-77654/

I find it very strange that you hate lucid dreaming. If you really are lucid dreaming then why not just change the dream, go somewhere else, kill the monster etc.? If you are having difficulty doing anything, not just moving around, then I highly recommend that you read some threads on dream control. Really, if you hate lucid dreams then you are doing it wrong. Lucid dreaming is meant to be a wonderful, exciting experience.

If you have anymore question please don't hesitate to ask.

There is--though I do not know how there is or why there is--a sense of infinite peace and protection in the glittering hosts of heaven. There it must be, I think, in the vast and eternal laws of matter, and not in the daily cares and sins and troubles of men, that whatever is more than animal within us must find its solace and its hope. I hope, or I could not live.

Your slow running and limited control is all in your head. If you have doubts that you won't be able to run properly, then most likely you won't. Remember your mind entirely, and its limitations for that matter, control/build/execute your dreams. It takes practice indeed, but 90% of dream control imo, is confidence and expecting things to happen. If you 100% know and believe that you will be able to run properly, then you will. Now sometimes it can be tricky, so I can suggest a few things that may work. Next time your in a LD and your running isn't right, look and see if your shoes are tied. Hard to run without properly tied laces. If you shoes are fine, try taking them off. Its possible that you have slow shoes on (in dreams objects can have abilities/characteristics that aren't possible in real life). Look around for some new shoes to put on or just try and run barefoot. You could also look around for a box of wheaties. Wheaties will definitely bring out the athlete in you! You may laugh at these suggestions, but you would be surprised how often things like this work. If you want to improve strength you can always take some steroids in the dream. Look around for a needle or some anabolics. If you ever are wanting an item/object in a dream. Just think about the object/picture it in your mind..and then look around for it. Much easier than spawning an object out of thin air. In dreams, there are always loopholes. The key is mastering these to exert control on your dreams. Some can control their dreams by pure will and brute force (lucky them), others have to find ways around it (like me). Be creative, because thats what LDs are all about! Good luck to you and I hope this helped.

I think starting with negative sentence wasn't a good idea, but If most of your dreams were unpleasant, you wouldn't like it as well. I can understand LD could be fun if you can control it.
I have followed the link on runing in dreams you've sugested and found it very interesting. Thanks a lot. Someone on a forum said that not being able to run or fight properly is like trying to do something in a water. That's exactly how I feel. Thank you for your support guys.
