Yes this is very common when you enter Sleep Paralysis. It's just something your going to have to overcome when entering SP. You can always try different methods of lucid dreaming to get around it such as the MILD and DILD techniques. |

I just starting working on WILD and SP was something that scared my at first but as you attempt it more and expericence it I learned that its just something that occurs everytime you sleep...I just tried to focus more on my breathing and just relax knowing that it was a natural thing. |

having difficulty breathing is what usually destroys my WILD sessions. |

When you feel the onset of SP try to remember that it's a natural process which happens each time you sleep; nothing can and nothing will go wrong. Try to relax and it'll be fine. |

I know exactly how you feel. A few weeks ago when I started trying to LD I got halfway through a WILD then started panicking, I gave up on it but for the rest of the night I was scared and excited. The beginning of learning to LD was the hardest bit because the excitement of it all made me lose a lot of sleep. |

Thank you all for your replies! I am going to continue and try and get used to the sensations |

I use to have this problem too, but it happened more often when I became lucid through a DILD. I would get like really excited at the fact that I was dreaming. This doesn't happen anymore, it went away with practice. |
