One day in, a false awakening and a couple of questions...

I started keeping my dream journal last night. I woke up around 4 after a dream, I found it really hard to open my eyes to start writing, then when I did the pen I had ran out! I opened my bedside drawer to find another on, and it was much emptier than I expected. This realisation woke me up. My first expierience witha False Awkening. Interesting.

I have some questions about reality checks.
Is it good to use a wide range of Checks, or just stick with two or three? My thinking is two or three are easier to get used to, but a wide range may be good for situations where some are not suitable? (For example holding your nose ina busy resturant!)
I have downloaded an App for my phone (Sleep Check Reminder). Whats the general feeling towards these? I'm worried, if I grow to rely on it to remind me to check it won't remind me in a dream. Is it a good idea (this is my plan) to dial it up to a high number of reminders for a while, then gradually decrease the number until the habit is formed?

      Hi Greendan,
It is quite normal to find it difficult to wake up enough to write, but I have found that you only need to write a word or two in order to be reminded of the dream, so I advise you just write down one or two key words, and you will find you recall the dream just fine.
It is a good thing to make sure your pens are full and you have a handy pad at your bedside, or as you found out, by the time you have scrabbled around to find the stuff, you are wide awake.
If you are using a sleep check reminder that wakes you up during your dreaming, I would advise against it. On the other hand, if your sleep check App is used for the purpouse of subliminal activation, then I advise one per hour throughout the day as a maximum - you actually only need about 5 mind preps to condition you for dreaming, or Lucid dreaming.
If you want to find out just what astonishing stuff you can do with Lucid Dreaming, on your address bar, type in cosmicdreamer.co and cruise around that site for a while - you will discover some astonishing things, particularly if you download 'The Book', which is for free!
      Hope this helps,
      Ray.
