Sure, you can count breathes or just pay attention to breathing, counting in general (counting inside your head), use a mantra, observe the darkness or any HI/HH, use your hearing as an anchor (don't focus on any particular sound, but observe all sounds collectively), use a particular thought/scenario and repeat this thought in your head, use the room temperature as an anchor (pay some attention to, and feel the temperature with your body), a lot of dreamers like to mix breath counting with a mantra (inhale/exhale "1...I'm dreaming," inhale/exhale "2...I'm dreaming," etc.), the noise of a fan/humidifier/dehumidifier/etc, the feeling of your bed beneath your body, music on very low volume, etc...You really could use anything as an anchor, but be careful with your anchors. If you are too "anchored" (focus too much on a particular anchor), you will not be able to fall asleep. Anchors are used so you just barely keep your mind active enough to where you don't lose consciousness. They aren't at all necessary, but they may be able to help out. I, personally, observe the darkness and HH/HI as my anchor. If you just keep your goal in mind (to achieve a WILD), observing/experiencing the process should be a perfect anchor. Be extremely cautious when using an external anchor (a fan/music/feeling your bed/etc), these are more likely to keep you grounded in waking life.

Can you tell me your technique on how you overcome the your fear in SP???? Thanks in advance!
Thanks! Ah, this will just take some experience and practice. After a few times, you will get more and more used to the feeling. You really just have to ignore any unpleasant hallucinations and remind yourself, "It is all just a hallucination and I can't be harmed." Say this line in your head when you start to get scared. When you ignore particular hallucinations, they will fade away and be replaced by something else. Just try to observe and enjoy the hallucinations that ARE pleasant and ignore the ones that are not. Like I said, the aura of fear will become easier and easier to handle once you get used to SP. Your body is paralyzed, you are hallucinating, you don't know what to expect...it is completely reasonable to feel fear. Just keep practicing and try to stay in SP a little longer each time. Eventually, you will power through one and realize, "Hey, it wasn't that bad after all." Good luck to you and I hope this helped out a bit.
