      Talking Help with WILD?

I'm just new to lucid dreaming, but to tell you the truth, I've already heard about lucid dreaming months ago but I just ignored it. Now back to the question, I've already tried WILDing but it's hard for me to stay awake, can anyone tell me his/her techinique in staying awake during WILD?

Note: I already know the things i will experience(I've felt it before though i didn't know what it meant back then) during WILD: Buzzing sounds, creepy figures, weird visualizers.

I am jealous. I find it hard to fall asleep soon after WBTB. But concentrating on something will help you to stay awake for sure. Read WILD tutorials on this forum. ;D I personally like BillyBob's tutorial the best. Good luck.
      My opinion:
*Lucid Dreams, OBEs, Astral Projections are one and the same.
*There are no levels of lucidity. Quality changes if you apply some deepening.
*Lucid Dreams do not last more than 20 minutes.
      *Wolves are beautiful.

Ah, don't forget that you have to fall asleep. Obviously, you can't dream if you aren't asleep. The key is to keeping consciousness while you fall asleep. You need to use an anchor that will help keep conscious. I like to simply observe the darkness of my closed eyes. Keep in your mind of what you are trying to accomplish and allow your body to fall into a deeper and deeper state of relaxation. I have a thread that explains my personal WILD technique if you want to take a look at it. There is a link in my signature. If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Can you say more examples of anchors?

Whoah! Your guide's pretty helpful. This morning, maybe around 5 or 6am, I tried WILDing. SP was starting but I decided to stop it. I stopped it because of the rumors of the "hag" and there was an "aura" of fear. I know it's just my imagination but it was so realistic. Can you tell me your technique on how you overcome the your fear in SP???? Thanks in advance!

I enjoy Sp. It's very good experience. Tell yourself that it's not real and that it's just your imagination. Try to relax and observe. ;D

Sure, you can count breathes or just pay attention to breathing, counting in general (counting inside your head), use a mantra, observe the darkness or any HI/HH, use your hearing as an anchor (don't focus on any particular sound, but observe all sounds collectively), use a particular thought/scenario and repeat this thought in your head, use the room temperature as an anchor (pay some attention to, and feel the temperature with your body), a lot of dreamers like to mix breath counting with a mantra (inhale/exhale "1...I'm dreaming," inhale/exhale "2...I'm dreaming," etc.), the noise of a fan/humidifier/dehumidifier/etc, the feeling of your bed beneath your body, music on very low volume, etc...You really could use anything as an anchor, but be careful with your anchors. If you are too "anchored" (focus too much on a particular anchor), you will not be able to fall asleep. Anchors are used so you just barely keep your mind active enough to where you don't lose consciousness. They aren't at all necessary, but they may be able to help out. I, personally, observe the darkness and HH/HI as my anchor. If you just keep your goal in mind (to achieve a WILD), observing/experiencing the process should be a perfect anchor. Be extremely cautious when using an external anchor (a fan/music/feeling your bed/etc), these are more likely to keep you grounded in waking life.

Thanks! Ah, this will just take some experience and practice. After a few times, you will get more and more used to the feeling. You really just have to ignore any unpleasant hallucinations and remind yourself, "It is all just a hallucination and I can't be harmed." Say this line in your head when you start to get scared. When you ignore particular hallucinations, they will fade away and be replaced by something else. Just try to observe and enjoy the hallucinations that ARE pleasant and ignore the ones that are not. Like I said, the aura of fear will become easier and easier to handle once you get used to SP. Your body is paralyzed, you are hallucinating, you don't know what to expect...it is completely reasonable to feel fear. Just keep practicing and try to stay in SP a little longer each time. Eventually, you will power through one and realize, "Hey, it wasn't that bad after all." Good luck to you and I hope this helped out a bit.

Hey, I just have one question: Can I sleep by my stomach? I heard that a person sleeping by his stomach can't achieve SP. I was used to sleep by my stomach throughout my childhood.

Sure, you can definitely sleep on your stomach. I have gotten into SP sleeping on my stomach plenty of times before. I think most people simply don't sleep on their stomach very often...might explain the origins of that rumor. Any position that you can fall asleep in...you can hit SP.
