Newbie who can't tell the difference in reality and dreams.

Well for starters I'm in my late teens. Having a hard time trying to tell the differences between dreams and reality. My dreams seem so real now that I have Anxiety attacks in my sleep, and its getting harder for me to sleep, and when I do sleep I can't seem to wake myself up when I have troubled dreams. I cry in my sleep and move around. Sometimes I hurt myself in my sleep without meaning too. For instance I would get hit in the arm in my dreams and I would wake up and have a briuse on my arm from where I got hit in my dreams. So I been kind of looking around and seeing WHY I am having this happen and seeing if I can over come it.

My mother used to have the same problem at the same age (with hurting yourself in dreams, but at the same in real life). As I heard, it happens, because your dream experience is so real, that your brain cannot see the difference between awakining and sleeping states. It thinks that you REALY hurt yourself and than bruise shows up, because your brain thinks it should. My mother overcame it with help of a special doctor or something, but I think that Lucid Dreaming would help you too. Good luck. ;D
      My opinion:
*Lucid Dreams, OBEs, Astral Projections are one and the same.
*There are no levels of lucidity. Quality changes if you apply some deepening.
*Lucid Dreams do not last more than 20 minutes.
      *Wolves are beautiful.

Go see a doctor, and perhaps a good psychologist. This is not normal and potentially quite dangerous.

you should consult a psychologist and experts but what I have experience were in I also hurt my self during sleeping is when I was dreaming of falling from a cliff and the moment I fall I was also falling from my bed.

And another also was when I was sleeping and I was dreaming of being burned by a cigarette buff when my feet was already being heated by the cigarette buff that my uncle left when he left the dinning area after reading the news paper.
