      Red face Woohoo First Good Lucid

      I just had my first lucid dream that didn't only last a few seconds. I just wanna say thanks for everyones advice, in particular picking something up and looking at really stabilized my dream.

      its odd because i was just about to give up but I prayed to God (maybe placebo effect) and just got really angry at my subconscious yelling at it to give me a lucid (again placebo effect )

      Nice! Congrats. I just had one of my first really vivid lucid dreams last night. It was definitely encouraging, as I've become all too familiar with becoming lucid only to wake up 1 or 2 seconds later.

      Congrats man! The placebo effect is pretty effective at getting LDs.

      The dream itself was pretty boring i was just a school however it was so fantastic for me because it lasted for more than a second and i had actual control of my body.
      I however didn't have complete control of the dream. I managed to summon a lightsabre by imagining it was in my pocket but i couldn't summon Darth Vader to duel with (yes i know i am a pathetic loser)
      so any tips for more advanced dream control would be appreciated greatly?

      Try licking things
      There was a rather funny thread about it a day or two ago and people actually reported it as giving more clarity to the dream!
      (i've never done it myself lol)
      Make sure not to lick things that would taste bad in real life though

      I know right! I was watching those newport vids and watched like all of them in one night and made sure to do everything he said and i had a lucid that same night. Then i saw that post that said he was making up alot of stuff and went over his vids, saw that it truly was crap and havent had a lucid since . ugh! sometimes it better not to know the truth as the placebo effect can be a powerful tool
