So your lucid nightmares take place in your bed, and then you have a false awakening and have another non-lucid nightmare on top of that?

The key is to reality check often, and to maintain a constant state of suspicious alertness. You can combat the nightmare when lucid, but there's little you can do while non-lucid. Don't lose lucidity, continue to RC and don't get too involved in the dream at any point. Oh, and welcome to the forum
