      I had a really strange experience with that -- I had a hypnogogic image of a hand holding a kind of remote control, and then after a couple seconds the hand pressed a button, causing a car to beep (which was an actual car outside). I can only conclude that the events were somehow written to memory in the wrong order.

      When I woke up I was already reaching for it. Though its likely that I heard it while I was still asleep and I reached as I was coming out of the dream so I don't remember hearing the alarm but I may have without remembering it.
