      Well, I guess i'm a noob, eh?

Hey there everybody! I'm what most trolls and 1337people would call a n00b!
I've been registered for a little over 2 days now, and it's pretty lonely around here.
I'm 16 years old, from Florida, in the US. I found out about LDing about a year ago in my school library. I checked into it and managed to have one, but I didn't really commit to it. Now that summer is coming up, I'll have a (mostly) consistent sleeping schedule, and that means time for LDing and dreams and fun stuff! If anyone wants to throw me a bone on how to get started, or more-so what will keep me from loosing interest in it. I saw the "Dream tasks" but I don't really have any technique in LDing, but I do have pretty good recall. That about sums it up. Thanks for listening!

      NonConfirmist, welcome to DV!

First, I would recommend keeping a dream journal every night. Don't worry if you don't remember anything, your recall will improve over time. You should also start doing reality checks regularly, as these will help you to have DILDs (Dream Induced Lucid Dreams). If you haven't already, I would suggest reading the DILD Tutorial, as it's a great guide for beginners.

If you've got any other questions, feel free to post them, or send me a private message!

      Welcome to DV.

The tutorial section is a great place to start and then just browse the dreaming the sections or use the search bar for specific queries. Invader's got some great guides as well, his "Why You Fail At WILDs" should come in handy if you ever try that lucid dream induction technique. You might also want to get into the habit of doing a reality checks (maybe two or three) per day, you'll eventually start doing them in dreams. I usually count my fingers but look p other methods and see which works best for you.

I've already got the DJ down, and i'm starting to do the Reality Check thing. How often do you think that I should attempt to have a LD? Is it too much to try every night, or should I siphon it?
Also, is there a good place in the forums for me to just chill and have a conversation, stuff like that?
      Ty!

I'd say only attempt to have an LD as often as you feel comfortable doing. Everyone is different so it's not my place to tell you to try/not try for an LD every night. Also, you can join the DV Chat to chat to other dreams about general topics of conversation and about lucid dreaming.

I think you should try every night, and every time you take a nap. It'll increase your chances, right? =P
As for chilling, check out "The Lounge" and "Entertainment" sections. Perhaps you'll find something interesting there?
Anyway, welcome aboard, and I hope you have fun. =D

The lounge and all the subforums in the lounge are relaxing chilled places.

Anyways i suggest looking at the All Day Awareness Technique by KingYoshi. I found it pretty useful and now i have quite a few LDs... not the way i wanted but I'm still getting there ^_^

anyways good luck and happy dreaming
