      Hi(:

Well, I'm new, as you can tell. I heard about lucid dreaming and dream control a couple weeks ago, and it really caught my interest since I love reading and fictional stuff. I'd absolutely LOVE to be able to go wherever/do whatever I wanted in my dreams. I tried some of the techniques a little bit, but I didn't try very hard as it's been the last few weeks of school with finals and such. But now that school is over for me I want to really get into lucid dreaming.

Just wanted to give a little introduction and say I'm very excited about joining this site. (=

Welcome to the site You will find this site has a very friendly, helpful, active community.

The main advice I can give to you is to never give up on lucid dreaming. For some it takes a few days, for others weeks, months and in some cases a year or so before they have one. Try a technique that best suits you, give it at least 1 month before saying it doesn't work, remember everyone is different. The reward is beyond amazing.

      -Good luck

Hi, and welcome to the Dreamviews forum!

Lucid dreaming is definitely an amazing experience for those who are creative, imaginative, or just want to try things that they wouldn't normally be able to do in real life. School can sometimes be stressful, and stress isn't good when you're trying to lucid dream - this I know from experience, and it really sucks if you can't seem to lucid dream or keep up your efforts. Fortunately, if you show the motivation and curiosity to try out LDing, you'll soon get the hang of achieving lucidity even in stressful circumstances.

If you want, have a look at this guide - it describes all the basics of lucid dreaming, including the different techniques - there's a bunch of links to different tutorials, too, among other stuff. Also, be sure to check out the Dreamviews Wiki if you haven't yet, because it too has a lot of information related to all things lucid dreaming.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! Lots of people here are willing to help.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.
