      Hello and please help!

Hi! Just got here, super excited to see how the community can help me have more frequent, and more vivid lucid dreams.

I have had 2 lucid experiences before, both started when I questioned if I was in a dream and immediately knew without any reality checks that I was. I have been trying only for a couple of months now and had these 2 lucid dreams or, moments? (one lasted 10 seconds and I got too excited and the other about 40 seconds and again I got too excited)

And the last couple of days I have tried the WILD technique. (It was actually sleep paralysis that inspired me to try lucid dreaming.) I have been unsuccessful, the one and only thing that holds me back is the wetness/dryness of my mouth. Ive made it to the transition stage and had hallucinations, but the fact that my mouth was hanging open and I had to swallow and move my tounge around to make my mouth wet took me out of it.

Does anyone else experience this? How do I let this problem go to the back of my mind? What can I do to keep my mouth from drying up, or having too much saliva to swallow?

      CLBA, welcome to DV .

A lot of people experience problems with swallowing during SP, when attempting to WILD. A member named Jeff777 posted a great tutorial not too long ago: http://www.dreamviews.com/f79/jeff77...hnique-116172/ (click). I'd recommend reading this as it clarifies a lot of WILD-related questions; in particular, "Step 5 - Maintaining State" talks a bit about saliva, and links another page with more information on it.

Let me know if this helps you at all, and feel free to ask if you have any other questions, or send me a private message.

      ShockWave.

Welcome to DreamViews! When WILDing, make sure your mouth is in the position that you normally sleep in. So, unless you normally sleep with your mouth open, I recommend WILDing with it closed. A swallow here and there isn't going to hurt your chances to WILD. Just try not to worry or even think about it. If you need to swallow, just do it naturally and pay no attention to the matter. Proceed with your technique as if you had never swallowed in the first place.
