      Well Hello

Hey everyone(: I'm Torry. I really excited about this. I actually became interested in Lucid Dreaming about 2 years ago, but it didn't last very long. I'd like to give it a go again, which is why I joined this forum! I'd been pretty close to attaining lucidity, but school got in the way. Well now its the summer First off I'd like to ask if anyone has any specific tips? I once heard that bananas help. Is that true? Anything like that would be helpful. I use mantras sometimes, so if you have any to reccomend that would be great(: I'm also really excited to use this for my dream journal. I've figured out that traditional journals don't really work for me, I seem to really stick to an internet journal though(: My plan is to write in a real journal as soon as I wake up and then transfer that to here. Wow! Its already 2:12, I'm going to bed. Hopefully I'll remember a dream or 2 Well thats my intro, sweet dreams everyone~ --Torry

Welcome to the forums! One specific tip I try to maintain is: stay positive. If you're not confident that you'll be able to Lucid Dream, you'll only make it harder to do so. I'm not sure about bananas but most people believe Apple Juice works (I'm drinking some at the moment). A physical journal is a bit better because the process of writing stuff down sticks better than it does with typing. Either way, keeping a dream journal in general is important.

Good luck on dreaming tonight. I hope we will see you on the forums again.

Welcome to the forums. Keeping a dream journal will be important. Just pick the way that works best for you and stick with it. There is no research behind bananas or apple juice inducing lucid dreams. So there isn't really a point in consuming them just to lucid dream. When it comes to mantras, pick one that you will want to use. And you need to choose a mantra for your specific application. For example, "I know the feeling of dreams" has worked well for me when I MILD. You can create your own or I will suggest some based on what you want to use the mantra for.

I hope you have a good stay here
With a mantra, I dunno if it will be much help but you can check out my mediocre Wiki article for a mantra here

Hi Torry, welcome to DV, i also write down my dreams in my dream journal pad and then re-type it out on here,i sometimes find that when i re-write it again on here it heps things that i had forgotten to pop into my head again so in that case i like having 2. Not sure about the banana thing but i have heard it said that it helps as the potassium helps in some way but like i said not entirley sure, alot say apple juice but i just take a supplement called 5HTP, nothing bad, can get from holland and barretts just helps with sleep and i have been taking it for nearly 2 weeks now and have had 1 lucid and one near in that time, i have however been trying to lucid for years, i naturally go into WILD in the middle of my sleep but most of the time i get faulse awakenings and i hate those lol, so 5HTP is not a magic pill that will make it happen almost immediatly, you need time, patience and confidence, plus different things work differently with each person ,you just have to experiment and find the right one for you, anyways, good luck
