      Pleased to meet you

Hi, my name is Kristin. I've had intense, active dreams since I was a wee one. Several times in my life, I have stumbled accidentally into lucid dreams. I don't have recurring dreams, but I do have recurring themes. My dreams are often incredibly intense in all aspects of the word. I sometimes wake up feeling physically drained, or completely disoriented. Often, it takes me a while after waking up to realize that something was just a dream. Sometimes my dreams are frightening, but I don't call them nightmares. I am often fascinated by these dreams and what they mean.

I've done research into dreaming - both general and lucid - here and there throughout my life. I've joined this group to learn more about technique, get to know other people's experiences, and to share my dreams with like-minded people. Many of my friends can hardly remember their dreams at all, so when I tell them about my dreams they give me funny looks.

Other things about me: I'm an aspiring writer. I write primarily fiction, and I get a lot of inspiration from my dreams. I wouldn't say that I'm a complicated person, but sometimes my thought patterns and emotions complicate things.

Well that's it for now. I hope to learn a lot from this forum about dreaming and myself, and I hope that I will also be helpful to others. It's nice to meet you all

      Hey, welcome to DV. =D

Puffin's Beginner's Guide To Lucid Dreaming is a great place to start learning about lucid dreams. You should also browse the Tutorial section when you get the chance, it's full of information, tips, and in-depth guides. On top of that, you can also visit the DV Academy for further guidance - the DVA Professors will teach you everything you'll ever need to know about lucid dreaming.

You might also want to get into the habit of performing reality checks (maybe two or three) throughout your day, you'll eventually start doing them in dreams and become lucid. I usually count my fingers but feel free to look up other methods and see which works best for you. I'd also recommend keeping a dream journal; regularly recording your dreams is a great way to improve to improve recall and you'll be able to notice common themes and patterns which can further help you attain lucidity.

We also have an off-topic section as well where you can discuss anything from books, movies, tv shows, philosophy, current events, etc so be sure to visit that part of the forum as well. If you ever get bored or need to kill time, visit Senseless Banter. It's full of nonsensical threads like forum games and the SB frequenter's are a friendly bunch so feel free to drop in sometime. We also have an IRC Chat Server which can be found near the top of the forum index. 'tis lulz.

Also, you're always welcome to PM either no-Name or I if you'd like to see pictures of our tits.

Lol, I'll keep that in mind. But in all seriousness, thanks for the information, tips, and the warm welcome. I'm really looking forward to participating and practicing.

Welcome aboard! I think it's a good idea to write from inspiration of your dreams. If you want to have higher chances of having a LD, it'd be best to write these stories before bed. Because having the though of LDs(or just dreams in general I guess) actually can boost the chance of having a LD. I hope I was helpful, and welcome to DV!
