Confused about how far into WILD I got last night

So, I was watching inception last night so i decided to try a WILD straight from waking. I led on my back and did breathing exercises with numbers and started to imagine a sream scene. After a while, I think about 10 minutes, I started to lose feeling in my arms and legs and could focus more on the dream scene. I imagined my hands rubbing together in the dream to ground myself and could feel them above me in real life. I stopped thinking about the dream and exited what I tought was sleep paralysis because my heart rate felt that it was dangerously too high.

My question is, was I succeding in a WILD and was this sleep paralysis??

You were succeeding by the sounds of it. Normally it takes much longer than 10 minutes however. Also, if you think you are in sleep paralysis, you aren't. If you know you are, then you are. When you finally get into S.P., you will know, it's that shocking. You heart will race and pound, you won't be able to move, you will hear a loud roaring or unknown noise in your ears, and your whole body will tingle and vibrate.
It's not as scary as it sounds, and it is pretty difficult to attain for new people or simply by WILD. I would suggest another method to continue with, such as the DILD you do.

10 minutes is plenty of time for a successful WILD if your timing is right.

Well WILD is about my favorite method because theres more than one thing you can do in sleep paralysis like if you practice astral projection and you change your mind about plans to have a lucid dream you can always try to astral project

What do you think is the difference between Lucid Dreaming and Astral projection? When executed through WILD, they are pretty much the same thing.

To me they both feel very different and you can see other people who may be astral projecting and usually if you tell the person you saw they will say they were at the exact same spot and that they saw you too. Really i think astral projection is just a sort of advanced lucid dream. It also seems that when you astral project that most of the time your surroundings are about the same, but personally i dont believe in the different realm crap because i've never seen or been to these mysterious places.

Really they are about the same when you go through the WILD method but next time you get in SP imagine your soul separating from your body and you should feel a sort of pull and if you're successful you will notice that its not quite like a lucid dream.

Another thing is that if you fail to astral project it seems that you will almost always have a very vivid dream even after you've failed. This is the time i've had the most vivid dreams and best lucid dreams.

I would argue that they are the same thing, pointing to the exact same examples you just used. I guess it remains up to all of us, individually, to decide for ourselves. That is the cool things about dreaming. We don't have to take anyone's word for it. We can experience it for ourselves, and decide based on firsthand experience.

The only 100% difference i have seen is the way they feel, but you do have a point there

that sounds like more of a projection related symptom rathar than a LD from what i know. i've often heard about increased heart rate, or "percieved increased heart rate" during projection attempts, from many different sources on the subject matter
