Can you use hypnosis to help have lucid dreams? |
|
I don't know. Something I've never been able to understand though - I've heard that you go through a hypnotic trance twice a day (well, probably more if you count brief awakenings) when you go to sleep and when you wake. If you are doing affirmations when you go to sleep such as, "I'll realise I'm dreaming" then why doesn't that act as a hypnotic suggestion and make you more likely to become lucid? Does that mean that hypnosis doesn't work? |

I've heard of people trying to use hypnosis to lucid dream but I've never read anything definitive showing that it can be done. You can use autosuggestion to induce lucid dreams though. |

I sure think so. MILD is hypnosis, in my opinion, considering it uses mantras. Simply put, hypnosis works by convincing your subconscious. You can reach your subconscious better while in a relaxed state, which is why it's the best time to use mantras or "autosuggestion." Since belief is a huge aspect of lucid dreaming, it's ideal for many people with doubts or pessimism to use mantras/self-hypnosis to induce lucid dreams. I think it's a very useful tool for a lot of lucid dreamers, including myself. Give it a try, it wouldn't hurt. |

Well, from the perspective of a semi-experienced self hypnotist, I guess you convince your subconscious that you CAN ld, or something like that. The subconscious does the dreaming, so...? |

Okely-doke.
I'm gonna dream the lucid f**k out of tonight. >:3
I've been looking into it for a few days now. I think it is very possible, and see two ways to do it. One would be to put yourself in a trance and suggest to lucid dream, since you would be telling your subconcious and your subconcious controls your dreams, it should work. Not to mention that confidence and expectation alone can give you lucid dreams. |

Lucid Dreaming since 3/30/10
i was thinking it would probly work lots better and be easier to go to a hypnotheropist and ask them to do it. |
|
Yeah I don't see why not if you got into a deep enough state |

"For a long time it gave me nightmares, having to witness an injustice like that. It was a constant reminder of how unfair this world can be, I can still hear them taunting him. 'Silly Rabbit, Trix are for kids!'... How come they just couldn't give him some cereal?"
probably, and probably more expensive for something that isn't too hard to do on your own for free. |
