      Hello, I am new here!

      Hello,

I am new here. I was interested in lucid dreaming about 2 years ago. I had about 30 lucid dreams, but they weren't any good (when I realised I was dreaming I either woke up soon or I couldn't see nor do anything), so I got less excited about it and stopped having lucid dreams.

Now I got excited about lucid dreaming again. I want to have better experience than before. I had first lucid dream today after a long time. I could freely move, touch things and I could see for about 20 seconds in my dream. It was good. Then I got a false awakening, I didn't noticed it and after a while I woke up. I am ill now (I have higher temperature and minor headaches), so I wonder I had my lucid dream just this night. Could it be affected by the illness?

Should my parents know I am interested in lucid dreaming? Could they be afraid of it and punish me for being interested in it? They already know I have a dream journal and I told them not to open it.

Is there any way to distinguish a sleep paralysis and a dream about the sleep paralysis?

After having a lucid dream, should I note the dream down immediately or rather try to fall asleep againt (to DEILD)?

And sorry for my English, I am still an English learner.

      Thank you for your answers.

      Hello there, and welcome!

Congratulations with the lucid dream, it sounds really great!

I don't know, if it can be affected by the illness, but I've wondered about that too. When I'm ill, I often have very vivid and weird (really unrealistic), and then I guess, that there's a higher chance to become lucid, because it is so weird. But, like I said, I don't know. Oh, and I hope you gets better soon!

I understands that the dream journal is privat, mine is also privat. Dreams says so much about people, and how they feel and think and who they are. So that's totally okay.
My parents knows that I'm interested in lucid dreaming. My father is also very facinated about it, and my mom has always talked to me about mine and her dreams. I don't see why I shouldn't tell my parents, when they are so open about it.
But it's your choice. If they aren't open about it, and think it is stupid, I understands why you don't wants to tell them about it. But if they aren't, why not?

I don't know about the other questions.

Your English is great! Don't worry.
I wants to apologize for my English as well.

      Have nice dreams!

Yeah, many people report higher lucid count when they are either sick or taking pills for one.
On parents, it depends really, mom knows I'm a LDer and is okay with it, how do you think they will react to it? Though there is no reason for them to say no, but parents...
To not be fooled by FAs all you need to do is a motionless RC and done! Not really that hard, and it helps you catch failed WILD attempts if you try WILD.
I would go for the DEILD, but then I have natural recall so yeah <.<

      Welcome madvorak
      Grats with the lucid dream.

My parents don't know i'm interested in lucid dreaming, and i'm not thinking of telling them. They wouldn't believe it anyway.
But I don't think your parents would punish you for being interested in Ld'ing... it's just like any other hobby. Plus, what could they possibly do to prevent you from lucid dreaming?

      Welcome to dreamviews

Your english is perfect my friend, so don't worry about that

In regards to telling your parents, i told mine and my mum likes the idea while my dad things im absolutely nuts... I guess its good that i dont live with them any more lol. But it depends on h ow open-minded your parents are tbh. If you think they can handle it then tell them the true purpose of your dream journal

Good luck with all future lucid experiences

Simply because you can breathe, doesn't mean your alive, or that you really live....

I thank you all for your answers.
I understand my parents cannot forbid me LDing, but if they get suspicious, they can start reading my dream journal (then they can find I am still trying to LD a stop giving my pocket money for example...).
to Hukif: I don't understand how to do RC when I am either in SP or in a dream about SP, because I cannot see anything. I have no experience with WILD, but I often have either SP or dreams about it. I guess that if I have it and then I have FA, I had only dream about SP, not SP itself. Am I right?

Technically, it IS SP since your body is paralyzed during the FA, but yeah. Also, try blowing air through your closed mouth? Thats quite an easy motionless RC, or gravity RC, or poke your mouth with your tongue, like palm-finger instead.
