      Newbie Problem

Well I started to try to lucid dream after reading about it on the internet. After a week or so, I had one semi-lucid dream. A few days later, I unfortunately fell breaking three or four ribs and my elbow/wrist. This leaves me with little sleep at night or if I do get sleep it's due to pain meds.

I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem before and if they were ever able to lucid dream during this time or should I just practice my strategies and hope that I get healthy soon.

Sorry to hear about your accident hope you get better soon

Well, you can just practice normally and do not perform any WBTBs unless you wake up during the night. I would strongly advice not to risk loosing any rest just for lucid dreaming until you're back on shape and feeling fine.

You should take this chance to practice your dream recall. Better dream recall always means more chances of lucid dreams. You can even practice techniques like DILD or MILD since they don't require you too loose any sleep. Don't waste too much time with your mantra though, if it's keeping you from falling asleep, just do it for 5minutes and then clean your mind.

Remember, a good rest is the top priority for lucid dreaming

Trying out MILD? This is how you become skilled at it.

      Sorry bout your accident bro.

With your injuries leaving you with little sleep it would probably be a good idea to just rest and rest. Try and work on your recall, but since you have little sleep you should just try and get your sleep. You could try and do DILD or something but try doing any techniques that will cause you to loose sleep or anything that would make it harder to sleep. Definitely don't try and WBTBs.

Just try and get your rest and work on recall. Hope you feel better soon!

You can still lucid dream of course! this injury may be somewhat beneficial, assuming you will sleep lighter when you do sleep, the lighter you sleep, more awareness. Don't give up
