      Wink I need motivation.

Skip the the end if you can't be bothered to read a lil'.

Hey guys! I've been around here for a little while now but if you don't know me, I'm...well, Candlelight, if you hadn't already guessed. Call me Candle! Or whatever else you want, I really don't mind.

Anyway, long story short, I started off learning about lucid dreams when I joined this site which must've been a good half a year or so ago (I can't see my join date as I'm typing this). When I first started out I was the most motivated person ever, I was totally up for it! Then I had my first LD after a while and it felt utterly stunning and simply really amazing. Yeah, it was that good.

I sort of got lazy after a bit and whilst I still 'wanted' to LD, I just couldn't be bothered to practice RCs/DJing and so on. I know practically everything there is about the DILD method (RCs, awareness, you name it) as I've read almost every guide going on here in an attempt to find motivation, but that's the problem. I just can't find ANY. I really, really, really want to be able to do it but half of the time I just feel as if all of the effort will amount to nothing so I don't bother.

I've got a million ideas on what I want to do when I turn lucid. I've also got this really strange feeling that I've got perfect dream control, even though I've never had a chance to practice it - I'm really keen to test it out. It's as if...I know how to perfectly control the entire dream and summon/do stuff at whim. Not sure how as I've never properly dreamed but still!

      Anyway, long story short...

I need motivation/inspiration to start practicing lucid dreaming again. Help me please?

      Much obliged people.

Oh, and if there are any people on here who would like to be friends with me, that'd be awesome as getting to know people who practice it/are experienced with it would surely help me out.

      /rant

I feel like i could be on the same route, my dry spells only been like 2-3 weeks but i know how you feel about motivation
Though i definetly wont lose it, im just teaching myself news ways to keep at it, its like learning a skill, you wanna come good at it, you practise, and come on now, going to sleep at night has got to be the easiest and most natural skill we allllll do, naturally!
My advice would be get the dream journal out! concentrate on lucidity but also on normal dreams! theyre just as fun most of the time, you could also get into dream interpretation, learn what your sub conscious is trying to tell you! it could even be hinting why your not having lucid dreams!

      Hey candle .

I know how it feels to get unmotivated, at one point I sat down and made a list of all the reasons why I wanted to LD. it really gave me focus seeing what I wanted to do and why. It's actually in the back of my DJ now so whenever I feel unmotivated I can look back on it. It's really worked for me so maybe you could give it a go. Also don't worry about taking a short break and come back to it.

If you want to get to know a few people, hop on IRC there's usually a few people on .

I like to go back and read my old dream journals for motivation. Go as far back as you can, so you read dreams you have completely forgotten.
