      Why Hello There ~

      Hello everybody ~

As usual, my guilt from being such a lurker has overwhelmed me and I decided to post an introduction. My real name is Laura, but please call me Lori. All throughout my childhood up until now I have experienced lucid dreams, so this isn't an entirely new concept for me. My sister introduced me to this forum when she noticed me researching lucid dreams (Great place this ;D). I have learnt many new and intriguing things about dreams and lucid dreams here so far, and hope to learn more in future. I am now actively keeping a dream journal, but can only recall about one dream per night (Although they are becoming lengthier and more detailed). I may recall more, but I cannot tell the difference between one dream and the next because I am constantly switching dream scenes.

Since finding this forum four nights ago, I have managed to have one DILD. Funnily enough, it was on the only day that I didn't try any particular technique to induce a lucid dream. Thanks to the stabilization techniques learnt here, I managed to hold onto my LD (by rubbing my hands together and indulging my senses in the dream). Flying was nothing new to me, but it was fun nonetheless. However, in all of my lucid dreams that I have had, I can never make a person appear. I had more success this time because I expected them to come around the next corner. But when I saw them, they immediately ran away. No matter how quickly I chased them, I could never even see their face. I became quite frustrated, and I believe I lost my lucidity due to this. This commonly occurs in my lucid dreams, and I am wondering if there is a possibility of fixing this. I would appreciate your input :)

      Welcome to the forums!
If you want to have more than one dream per night, I suggest waking yourself up during the night and recording it in your DJ [Dream Journal].

Hello! Welcome to Dreamviews! It's great that you signed up!

So DC's running away from you huh? Well, there are a few ways you can solve this in my opinion. So in real life, if you wanted to meet someone would you talk to them mean or nicely? You would probably talk to them in a kind manner, so when you come up to the dream characters, just say something like, "Hi! How are you? It's so great to talk to dream characters, you guys are awesome!". You don't have to say something exactly like that but just being friendly and possibly complimenting them will increase your chances of them staying near you. Also, when you visualize them being around a corner, imagine them as maybe a friend you haven't seen in a while or something. Imagine them as someone who really wants to hang out with you or someone who you haven't seen in a while. Imagining them as someone who wants to be near you can really help you out. It would probably be a good idea not to chase them (in my opinion) because it's like real life. If someone is annoying you, and you get mad and give them a response, it's more fun for them to watch you flip out and get all mad. So if a DC runs away from you, wouldn't it probably be a bad idea to chase them because that is what someone running away from you would expect? Now this is really just my opinion but from my experiences with dream characters and dream control, what I gave you can help you out.

      Anyways, happy dreaming! Good luck!

Welcome to Dreamviews! Childhood LDs commonly help with the problem of new dreamers getting too excited upon realising when they are dreaming

To summon people I've always been a fan of turning around and expecting them to be behind me! To stop them running away try something like just simply calling out their name and expecting them to turn around, all you need is a little intent!

Always good to have more Aussies on here

Thanks everybody for the welcomes and advice :D

Yes! This definitely helps to separate my dreams. Last night I could say for sure that my dreams were separate because I woke up in between and wrote it down. Thanks :)

Thank you so much for the awesome advice! I will definitely try this in future LDs.

Another Aussie :D Yup, I have found that I don't share the common problem of waking up from becoming too excited. I will try the turning around technique next time too. Pffft I have to keep remembering to expect them to turn around.
