Hi!
So, I've always had an interest in lucid dreaming. I mean, what's not to love? Lucid dreaming allows you to experience the extraordinary and explore various abilities, worlds, etc. that you simply can't experience in the real world. It is also a means for a writer like myself to visit the worlds I've created, visit the characters I've imagined, and in so doing, perhaps gain inspiration.
When I was younger, I could lucid dream almost every night of the week just by chanting "I am dreaming" as I fell asleep. The problem was that while I often recognized when I was dreaming, I had very poor control over my lucid dreams. Soon after trying to alter my environment, I'd find myself in a nightmare. Either horrible creatures would come out of the wood work or I'd simply get that "evil" feeling we sometimes have in dreams, when we just know something horrible is about to happen. For a while, all my lucid dreams turned into nightmares and I stopped trying to lucid dream for a while. It was just too terrifying, and I always had to wake myself up to escape the dream. I soon lost the ability to lucid dream on command. Now, I'd like to learn to lucid dream again, gain control, and hopefully avoid letting my fears get the best of me. Here's hoping!
