      Dry spell stage

All my lucid dreams were product of MILD technique.

Iīve decide to try the WILD technique, and reached the conclusion that itīs fundamental to any lucid dreamer development and progression to find the right technique, or else the dreamer will get frustrated with his own project, and quit.

This is a conclusion that i think you all took it some time ago.

Being able to know yourself is fundamental in the process of lucid dreaming...

Itīs impressive the amount of dreamers that donīt take the time to know themselves, and just grab a technique that they think its the right one for them...

A lucid dream is a door to a realm, to your inner realm...and the path to your inner realm should not be be built upon fragile structures, and such structures can only result from lack of self knowledge and a sense of hurry in reaching a lucid state....

I was once like that...always in a hurry to have the next lucid dream.

Right now iīm going through a dry spell stage...

I need to get of that dryspell stage, but iīm not worried, because it can only go away with ease of spirit and a calm mind...the opposite is only going to make the dry spell last....

I felt the need to share this with you all, because dry spell stages are something that in my opinion is not discussed often in here.

Anyway all this was just a thought.

Walk the path, open the door and lose yourself in your own eternity.

Although i don't believe in 'dry spells', i do believe that we have shit moments due to stress or things that happen in our daily life that make us more distracted, which causes less lucidity. In my personal opinion, i think believing in the 'dry spell' just makes it true for yourself.

Maybe i expressed myself in the worng way, or maybe the expression "dry spell " has a different meaning from the one i give to it.

For me dry spell is to define a period where you canīt remember your dreams or cannot lucid dream for some reason, for example due to some of the reasons youīve just mentioned.

Ah. If this is what you mean, I was just in a 'dry spell' a few weeks ago, due to school. I wasn't getting enough sleep and it made me stress out. The past 2 nights i've been sleeping 2 hours earlier (well, getting in bed 2 hours earlier and giving myself about 30 minutes to get 'ready' for bed.) Perhaps you could also try this Short meditation sessions throughout the day also help recall dramatically. Whether it was during the car ride to school or just a short <5 minutes in class. Just really focusing on my breathing.
You wouldn't believe how much this has helped. I went from averaging 1 dream ever 3 days (since school started) back to my 3-5 dreams per night.

      Good luck~

I understood perfectly what you meant because I've been going through a "dream recall" dry spell for several weeks now. It's a bit frustrating but I'm determined to get through it and continue my quest to have lucid dreams. So far, I've only had 3 and the last one was 2 months ago.

I think you're right that everyone needs to find the technique that works for them and stick with it. There are so many different techniques out there and more crop up every day. I've started with MILD and added SAT and ADA. My hardest step has been to realize I am dreaming. I had two dreams last night that had my first wife in them. She died back in 1998, so that should have been a classic sign that it was a dream. But the dream seems so real that I just go with it and don't ever become lucid. It can be frustrating...

Yes it can be very frustrating...but it can be surpassed too.

you have the same amount of ldīs than me, and my last was almost 1 year ago...but itīs just a question of focusing and keep trying, because nothing last forever, even "dry spells"

I may be wrong but I'm starting to think the key might be to approach lucid dreaming with an almost obsessive mind set, especially close to bedtime. it's like when you watch a movie in the evening, then end up having a dream about it. Or if you think about something or someone all day long, then end up having a dream about it or them. That's why I think the reality checks are so important throughout the day. My problem, though, is that I get caught up in my day and forget to do them as often as I should. For a while I had my watch set so that it would beep at the top of every hour so that I would remember to do RC's. But then I read somewhere that it's not good to do that because your subconscious would begin to associate RC's with the beep of the watch. I don't know if that's true or not.

Good luck and I hope we both have our next lucid dream very soon!

I find the best thing to do is Puffin's SAT. Throughout various times in the day, stop what you're doing and just analyse your environment. Don't just look over everything. Instead of what you might normally see/think "outlines of furniture" really analyse what's there. Perhaps on your desk "piece of paper ontop of an A5 sized book, which is next to a blue cup filled with water" and carry on looking around the room with that mindset. Obviously, you don't have to think of every little detail, but just to take notice of the things that are there.
Edit: I would also do a reality check~

Oh I agree! I've only had three lucid dreams but I only had them after incorporating Puffin's SAT technique into my RC's.
