      Crazy First Experience

Idk what it's called because I have no knowledge on the matter. But I had a "dream" that I realized was a dream or more like a nightmare. I saw red and thought I died. I'll never be able to explain it to anyone. Besides that in the "dream" I was stuck and not in my own control. The only reason why I thought it could be an LD is because things started becoming more understandable and I recognized things from my life. If it is an LD I'd like to learn how to put myself back into it to go to the next step in being able to control it.

If at any point you realized that you were dreaming, then it was lucid, even if you couldn't control it. There are some good tutorials in the wiki section of the site that you can check out for techniques to use to have more LDs and learn to control them. Some of the techniques include DILDs, WILDs, and MILDs. WILDing (wake induced lucid dreaming) is pretty difficult so it's best not to start with that technique. DILDing (dream induced lucid dreaming) is when you just realize you're dreaming within the dream, like what you did in your first LD.

Two of the most important things you can do are keeping a dream journal, and doing frequent reality checks (without letting the reality checks become an unconscious habit).

When you're in the dream, try touching different objects and spinning around. Stimulate your dream senses to stabilize your surroundings.

Check out Puffin's DILD Guide and various other tutorials. Good luck

The only similar experience I had with this is a night terror. I thought I either died, or I was about to die.

      Hi there my friend,
That's indeed an LD you got there. Anyways, it's quite normal for a person to have no control in his first few LDs. There are a lot of ways to have a Lucid Dream, there's the DILD, MILD and the WILD. Each has its own pros and cons. Be sure to check each tutorial to know what fits you best. Also, try reading the Dream Control Tutorial to know more on how you can control your dreams. Hope this helps and feel free to ask more questions

You can put yourself back into it as much as you want. It is less scary when you know you intentionally induced it. You can learn to control it, or just explore with the knowledge you are safe.
