There's a big difference between your body becoming numb and the feeling of sleep paralysis. When you don't move for a long period of time you do end up numbing almost completely - but unless you are tired enough, and your mind is quiet enough, you will not be able to get your body to go to sleep. That's what needs to happen to start sleep paralysis - and you can feel anything from movement, falling, spinning, vibrating, or seeing and hearing things that aren't there. When you reach sleep paralysis you'll know about it

One of the problems a lot of beginners make is trying to WILD at the very beginning of the night when their body and mind is still wide awake and they're nowhere near a REM period. WILD is best attempted after waking up after about 4-6 hours of sleep. I recommend you read any of the WILD tutorials available on the forum, there are lots of links in the WILD section of the Beginners Guide to Lucid Dreaming

In regards to your DILD question I'm not sure I understand. D you realize you are dreaming while in the dream itself? If so - why does it matter if you can ask yourself if you're dreaming or not? Im not quite understanding what you mean

      Hi there my friend.
Always perform a WBTB(wake back to bed) before WILDing. It's something that you shouldn't forget to do. It makes WILDing much easier to perform. Also, SP is more than getting your body numb. It is the state where you 'll experience weirder-than-life effects like buzzy sounds, scary hallucinations, etc. So if nothing happens within 15-20 minutes, I suggest you change your sleeping position.

About DILDing, I suggest you practice your awareness. Make it a habit to do random reality checks throughout the day. Try reading http://www.dreamviews.com/f49/sat-sp...puffin-100798/ . EVerything you need to know about DILD is in there. Hope this helps

Possibly. But one thing thing you should always expect is the unexpected. You may never know what effects will overcome your body. But do take note that the effects you encounter during SP are just the product of your mind.

You can try it with a wbtb and with naps, just make sure you don't try it at the beginning of the night.
