Faillure #3 My first lucid dream since I joined!

So last night I finally had my first lucid dream since I joined the forums! I was in a room I believe, when all of a sudden a strange photoshopish light appeared. I recognised it as highly unusual and that's when I realised I was dreaming and entered a lucid state, everything became very vivid etc. While finally in a lucid state I thought it was better to turn off the light for a few seconds to let me focus. The light was off:I couldn't see anything anymore, lost the control over my dream and lost my lucidity. That's basically it.. Has this ever happened to any of you? How could I prevent it from happening again? Thanks for reading (:
