Hello! My first post and some questions

      Hello All,

I've been reading the posts on this forum for a few days now and decided to join after i had my first LD today (however brief)!

I've only being trying to LD for about 3 days now using mostly the WILD technique but it hasn't been too succesful. I guess thats mostly because I try WILD-ing before i get any sleep at all. I achieved sleep paralysis on my first night itself but woke myself up when I was unsure if the banging i heard on my window was real or not.

Regarding DILD, I believe I have a unique problem (haven't read about it anywhere else yet) that makes this technique unviable for me. Its very rare that my dreams involve me or any 'physical' manifestation of myself so the chances to perform RC's are very rare. I wonder what advice the more experienced LD-ers can give me about this? How often can I go lucid with this technique? Would I be better off persisting with WILD? Also, would yoga help me with achieving sleep paralysis faster with WILD and help with controlling the speed of my breath?

Thank you all and I'm quite excited to be a part of this community!

You should try WILD and wake back to bed. Wake up after a few hours, stay up for 5 minutes to an hour. Then go back to bed and attempt the WILD. i used to have most of my dreams be in 3rd person, but after I started lucid dreaming I have mostly 1st person dreams. You should also tell yourself while your going to bed that if your dream is 3rd person that you will realize your dreaming.

Your reality check should be are you in 1st person or not. When you find out that your dreaming in third person, do what i call screan stepping and think that your watching a movie on your couch. Then youll be sitting on your couch and be free to get up and have fun.

Im not to sure about yoga, I never used it.

Well to DILD, you can just have self awareness, so that means in waking life you must have it, too. Though easier said than done.
Try WILDs in after you've already had sleep, like the above poster said, WBTB.
And always remember not to get too hard on yourself if you can't get lucid right away, it takes practice

      flowers shall grow
      and I am in them
      and that is eternity.
