      An Introduction

I have been on this site for about a month now, but I never really introduced myself so I thought "Why not?". First off, my name is Dakota, but you can call me anything and everything if you want. I have first heard of lucid dreaming from American Dad (Lol), but really didn't take enough interest in it to do something. About two months ago, me and my friend were talking about our dreams. I had always been amazed by the things we could do in them. My friend brought up the subject of lucid dreaming, and that is what made me actually do some research on the subject. I had found out some techniques, such as MILD, and DILD, and tried the one that fit me the best, MILD. The first night, I actually got results but when I became lucid, I woke up. After about half a month of lurking around on the internet for sites about Lucid dreaming, I found Dream Views. I spent a day learning the basics of what you should do first before you actually try to lucid dream, such as getting a better recall. I am still working on my recall, but sometimes I will go a day without trying to remember a dream and try to lucid dream. It usually doesn't work, and I don't remember too much of my dream. This also helps me know my progress in my dream recall. So yeah, that is my introduction. not much to it, but whatever. Oh and I forgot to say one thing: I have came up with my own method of lucid dreaming (I don't know if anyone else does this) and it is a combination of DILD and MILD.

Welcome to DV! You are right about working on your dream recall - dream journal really helps with this. Don't worry about your LDs being short, first ones usually are. Try to keep your excitement down in the dream and read up about stabilization. Keep up your enthusiasm!

      Good luck!

Hello to you as well. I always get one out of these two reactions from my username: 1) Lol, I love your username. or 2) What idiot would pick RacyBiscuit as their username?

      Welcome to DV
Congrats on having some LDs already ^_^ You'll get more, just practice.
And also, what is your technique you mentioned toward the end?

As mentioned in the last sentence, it is a mixture between DILD and MILD. Before I go to sleep, I say my mantra, but I also am studying my dreams to learn what I mainly do in them, dream signs, etc.

Oh that's what I meant, what the specifics of it was, and ahh I see. That's mostly just a MILD, since DILD is sort of a name for multiple techniques. But anywho, that's good I find the best techniques are tweaked ones

      Welcome to DreamViews RacyBiscuit!

Allow me to reiterate, keeping a dream journal IS a definite must for improving dream recall. Even if you just make some notes when you wake up, or as I like to do lately, which also seems a bit fashionable on DV as of late, post a quick dream bit in http://www.dreamviews.org/f45/share-...entence-94250/ .

(giggle, your name IS kinda cute.. wasn't Sea Biscuit a race horse? Sea Biscuit + Race Horse - Sea - Horse - e + y = RacyBiscuit)
